Obviously Title IX doesn't require spending to be the exact same

You've never even read it have you? Jesus. As far as facilities and coaches are concerned, the law only says that men and women have to have equal opportunity and access. As far as cash stipends are concerned, yes, the law specifically says that payments have to be equal.

I looked briefly but couldn't find the actual thing. Only stuff about how women are still disadvantaged despite Title IX.

I've always thought it unlikely that it would happen but laws can change.

The goal of Title IX is equal participation opportunities for both genders. With that in mind, the law requires male and female student-athletes at a particular school to receive financial aid proportional to the school’s participation opportunities. Although Title IX does not require equal dollars to be spent on men’s and women’s sports, it does require equal treatment for:

Equipment and supplies
Scheduling of games and practice times
Travel and daily allowance/per diem
Access to tutoring
Coaching
Locker rooms and practice and competitive facilities
Medical and training facilities and services
Housing and dining facilities and services
Publicity and promotions
Support services
Recruitment of student-athletes

You're the one that either didn't listen to or didn't understand Spurrier's arguement. Theres even a video. Thats some serious struggling in the noodle department if you can't watch the video and take away Spurrier's point

Do people realize that if college athletes get paid then the fed will take away their tax exemption?

Fact is most hoops team are in the red... duck giving them money. Next is all the other sports not called football. As a former tide athlete I put as many hours training weekly, if not more in the off season than these guys... why don't I get theoretically paid. Steve and people who think like him are retarded and hell bent on ruining college sports. It's not bad enough title ix ruins shite, this would be a kiss of death to all non football sports at 98% of schools.
