Thank God for Lyle Allen "Butch" Jones, Jr.
This is the nightmare Coach Jones inherited. A program destroyed by the worst coaching hire in the history of the SEC.
Dooley was only hired because of his overrated Daddy's name.

My God! Dooley was simply awful. Butch has practically had to turn water into wine to repair the damage.

Hey now, Dooley was awful I will grant you, but do not slur the good name of Arkansas and imply that Dooley was a worse hire then John L. "Smile" Smith.

But at least Arkansas was smart enough to only give him a 10 month contract. Your AD handled your catastrophic event 100X better than ours did.

A lot of SEC fans, particularly UGA fans, don't truly understand how terrible Derek Dooley was in every way possible.
If Dooley had remained HC for the 2013 season, UT doesn't win more than 2 games.

For opposing fans who talk shite about Butch, this is about 75% of why UT fans love him: he's not Derek Dooley. We don't know just how good Butch is yet, but we do know he's better than the most incompetent coach in SEC history.

And that's not an exaggeration. The entire team was so lost and apathetic by the end of his tenure. The 2013 team (Butch's first) had heart and gave it their all, but were just bad. We sure as hell don't upset a good SC team with Dooley coaching. We finish a massive choke job against South Alabama to lose that game (we escaped with a 7 point win as it was). And we lose again to Kentucky because a 2-9 Dooley coached team wouldn't care.
