I almost would bet the house that CUM payed ealy to come out and talk well about spikes or spikes told ealy he'd put a hit on one of ealy's family members. There is just so much ill will at florida right now. after the golden boy leaves there will be no bright light in the darkness. CUM's real team and personality will come out and will over take miami as thug U in the state of florida

ya that is a pretty douche post. simply for that kind of reaction. honestly though I do question florida's character over the next few years. Don't necessarily think they're the new miami and hope not but it'll just be interesting to see how many more football punting, eye gouging, "emotional" players yall have

if you actually believe your post, i recommend professional counseling. ya might want to start immediately and not put it off. things could get progressively worse for you otherwise. the wizard of oz was just a movie. he didn't really control everything.

uhh, no.

i have said it a million times and i'll say it again. Big time athletes, esp young black males, don't really rat on each other or speak about each other when it comes to disciplinary issues. It's an unspoken code. You take what Ealy says with a grain of salt.

I liked how in his appology, Spikes appologized to his teammates and coaches first.

As if anyone believes it was a sincere appology to start with.

I would buy that except for Ealey didn't miss a down. Perhaps he was telling the truth.

I don't know either way.

Road Gator, your one of the few gator posters who I think brings a level head to the board. What length of suspension do you feel would have been excessive for Spikes?

That is a great question. I haven't seen this type of behavior on screen like this before. The only thing I can relate it to was the knee twisting FSU did to our RB years ago and it put him out of the game.

I'll say this.

I don't understand the 1/2 game suspension. 1, 2 or none but not a half.

If there had been injury though, I would have been OK for suspension for the rest of the year.

If it were up to me I would have gone with 2 games. However, I think I believe that because of the negative press. I'm not sure that is the right way to go about it.

It is a black eye that we didn't need. Everyone already hates whoever is on top and this crap doesn't help. Finescum, ESPN etc. just wait for something like this to happen so they can tear down what they basically spent 2 years building up.

I unrealistically feel all these athletes should act like choir boys because of the opportunities afforded them. It's just not how it is as we all know.

Anyway, it was wrong and I hope he's learned to control himself. That's about all we can ask for after the fact. Insert thugs will be thugs here...

what does Ealy missing a down have to do with anything? Spikes tried, but his hand didn't fit....hence why the facemasks are designed that way.

Urban's suspension reminds me of how Tom Osborn handled Lawrence Phillips. I think that at least one game and the story would have lost steam. The slap on the wrist only meant that as soon as everyone was over the shock of seeing the incident on video then everyone got to be shocked over how little was done about it. Someone posted the other day with the analogy of "people committ crimes all the time, but when it is caught on tape we prosecute to the fullest extent." I think this applies in this situation. Yeah stuff goes on in the pile all the time and doent get caught. That doesnt make it right. When you are caught you have to do the time. UF took a PR hit on this, but because UF is a good as they are I dont think anyone down there really cares.

Oh well. Play Ball!!!

Maybe it was you, but someone said that athletes, especially black athletes won't rat on each other.

Consider the possibility that he didn't say Spikes gouged his eyes because he didn't touch his eyes.

Spikes was wrong. We know that.

Well, I care. I don't think anyone wants a representative of your university to be a "thug".

Drugs, womanizing, rape, DUI, theft, eye gouging, it is all embarassing as shiite to me.

I think these guys get so spoiled they forget what has been laid at their feet.
