It definitely is odd seeing so much southern support for a catholic institution, considering the South's traditional views towards the catholic church.

you've never been to southern louisiana i gather. not many prods in some parts of the south. many prods in the north. louisiana's history is really interesting and is much, much different than the rest of the south. it's better, too.

Since Jesus won't be playing for either team and if you are a true Christian, it doesn't matter if protestant or catholic. So what does religion have to do with it? Now if ND was playing the University of Tehran, I would pull for them, but not over any SEC team.

Why don't you just post this on the TR where it belongs.

Is it you or NBamaAlum that always posts about LSU? If it's you, that's an ironic statement if i've ever heard one

A large majority of southern LA is Catholic, brah.

Creoles, Cajuns, Irish-all usually catholic around here. South LA also has the highest amount of Black Catholics per capita in the nation.

ETA: I'm catholic, going for ND, as I would if they were playing anyone but the SEC- minus Bama, aTm, and Arkansas

I'm pulling for Alabama because Catholics apparently love young boys a little too much.

I would imagine that this year, like every other year, by the time the game is actually played I will have already moved on from season mode into post-season recruiting mode and don't even watch it all. As much as I think I am a fan of college football, I have realized that I watch very few games not involving UGA. Don't really care which one wins.

That's about as accurate as saying that all men from Alabama frick their sisters. What the hell....lets stick with the stereotypes.
