I think TAMU isn't going to be what their fans think. They had an alltime bad defense last year and lost one of the best CFB players of all time at QB.

I understand they have lots of young talent, but without a stable defense to offset freshmen mistakes on offense, I don't see them being that great.

I don't think any of us expect to be winning the SEC. We expect 7-9 wins at most, with hopefully some progress on defense.

This is a great thread, and is one I really feel as an A&M fan.

Us A&M fans are trying to be reasonable for the first time in a while, we expect to win 7-9 games and make a bowl.

But because SOMEONE has to be a L on all those Ole Miss, MSU and Arky fantasy prediction posts we end up with a situation where A&M will have its worst season in history next year according to tRANT.

I actually think it's funny.

Our fans--on the whole--have predicted anywhere from 3-5 losses for the season; yet the minute we lose a single game this fall, we'll be accused of having over-inflated expectations.

But we all must be gluttons for reading the stupidity of others, because we continue to visit the board.

Remember when Manning graduated and UT won the title with Tee Martin? Unexpected things happen about every year in the SEC.

If Ole Miss can be more consistent and Freeze learns when to kick some FGs and get points instead of going for it all the time, they could be really really good this year.

Mathematically 50% of the games must be lost.

I think this is technically wrong. Two teams can agree to a tie game due to inclement weather, provided inclement weather appears after the start of the 3rd quarter.

But, speaking "mathematically," this scenario is at least possible for every single game played. Certainly, the probability that any given game would end in such a way is very low (it has never happened, in fact).

Nevertheless, one would have to account for the very low probability that this would occur, and that means the probability that one team loses is slightly lower than 50%.

I kinda like it. It is 2012 all over again, except our team is more talented so the expectation of us having a losing season is even MORE ridiculous.

Clever. I should have added that the game has to be tied at the time inclement weather appears.

In a generalized form, the rule is that the two teams can agree to accept the score, as is.

So, mathematically every team in the West could go 4-4 in conference play?

More likely something like this ... in conference play.

7-1
6-2
5-3
4-4
4-4
3-5
2-6
1-7

Fill in the blanks.

I know.

Just keep hearing about rain (stiff dew). Both teams were on offense in the same conditions.

Has this ever happened since overtime started?
