The build up to this game sounds a lot like the Sugar Bowl last year.

Ohio State's defense gave up 24 or more points 7 times this year, 6 if you want to remove the 2OT game which is fair.

Their defense is above average.

Is Ohio State's defense still filled with white people?

It took them 2 OT's to beat a 6-6 Penn State and they lost to a 6-6 Va. Tech, while giving up 35pts at home.

I love how people ignore the fact that throughout the course of a season, teams get better, teams get worse, very talented teams have off days, etc.

You jest about cueing arkansas as the greatest 6-6 team ever, but there may actually be some truth in it. The Hogs played 8 top 25 teams and still ended the season with a defense ranked in the top 25. Almost beat Alabama, Miss St and Missouri. Curbed stomped a darn good 11-2 Northern Illinois team. Smoked a Texas Tech team at techs home that only lost to Baylor by 2 points and West Virginia by 3. So, I think this Arkansas team may very well be the best 6-6 team ever.

OSU cannot run the ball against Bama's loaded box, and will be forced to throw by a third team QB. Look for Bama to have 2/3 interceptons in a stinker of a game. 42-10 Bama Rolls!

A legit defense doesn't get taken to double OT by Penn St. (117th best offense in the country LINK)

The defense only gave up 17 points that game, including 2OT.

Unless you think a pick 6 is the fault of the defense?

PSU only had 240 yards of total offense that game, which is 80+ yards less per game than they average.

I wasn't really taking a shot at Arky, I was more saying there are good teams who are 6-6, 7-5, 8-4 a lot of years. PSU has a legit D, and anyone with half a brain can see that. Arky does as well.

OSU's D is likely no the best Bama has seen, but it may have the most individual talent. If they can put it together like they did against Wisky, it may be.

I think you could make a case for third behind Ole Miss and LSU, but State's defense was damn impressive as well.

In pure talent, irrespective of experience, I'd go with LSU the tOSU. But it's not far apart.

That Wisconsin game was impressive. It's hard to determine how much that game represents where tOSU is right now. As the most recent game, you have to give it weight. But it's hard for me to believe that the Buckeyes can just plug in a third string qb and be that good. We'll see soon enough.
