Warren St John, NYT reporter wrote Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer: a Road Trip into the Heart of Fan Mania . He follows and documents the rabid legion of crimson tide fans, and the book is actually read in university sociology classes around the country as a case study on extreme sports fandom.

It was published in 2004, mostly covers the 1999 season

But yeah we disappeared from 92 to 09

You're rolling on the floor laughing at a sports fan using 'we'?

Using "we" in the context of we run shite and kiss the rings--yeah it's dumb. We're fans, not athletes.

When I bought the trailer, the previous owner left a picture of Bear on the bedroom wall. It just felt natural.

Well you can say "we are owned and we suck" in regards to your favorite team and I'll be okay with it

It's beat into them from birth. Let a kid of Bama fans say war Eagle and their parents act they just threw something at the preacher in church.

Then when you ask the parents why they act so stupid they try to spin it into you being jealous of their team or just upset that they beat sometime.

You're exactly the kind of guy that goes around trying to get little kids of Bama fans to say War Eagle

I became a fan during the Bill Curry era.

My fandom was solidified when I enrolled at Alabama in 1992, which is same year that Alabama beat two teams from Florida and was crowned National Champions.

Undefeated national championship seasons are the pinnacle

Florida fans must cherish theirs the same way we do

I don't go around trying to get to kids to do anything. It happens everywhere you go on its own. Plus there is no way I would have a kid trying to deal with the reaction of a Bama fan when they don't know any better or care at their age.

No it's not. I've never seen an Auburn fan send their kid to their room or whip them for saying roll tide. At most they laugh.
