Gators slayed Virginia
South Carolina did the lords work gutting Duke
Arkansas should have sent North Carolina packing if the refs dont swallow the fricking whistle with the block, charge and walk combo. Gutsy comeback by the Hogs denied.

Kentucky beats the fighting drunk coaches wife

All in all great performances by the SEC.

ACC 1-5 in the round of 32... suck it ESPN.

And he took 5 steps before doing it.

Which is why the player just tossed the ball up...he was expecting a whistle for either a charge or a travel. Watch the replay and look at his face. He is more surprised that there was not a foul or walk call on him than anyone else in the arena.

Yeah, that was the most pathetic non call. What's just as ridiculous is the announcers, and "expert pundits" after the game barely gave it notice, questioning it in a light hearted manner. We know why too, because it was a blue blood opponent.

I think that the fact that 3 SEC teams has advanced shows that officiating during the regular season does take its toll. In the tourney you don't see the ticky tack fouls that the SEC refs routinely call.

Yep - the SEC was not a great basketball league this year, but it was much better than the past and had both a solid top class and a very deep bench.

The numbers backed it up all year. Best year the league has had in a decade KenPom wise and only 2 terrible teams in the entire league (out of 14).

The NCAA run is just a nice little PR boost heading into what was already going to be a breakout year next year.

to South Carolina, Florida, Kentucky and even Arkansas for getting the train rolling.

It also shows that that the league has some really really frickin good defensive teams.

The league looks a lot more like the 1980's/early 2000s league of tons of athletes who are well taught defensively and can get to the basket and make plays around the rim.

Yeah we scored 65 pts against Duke in 1 half... most ever against a Coach K team in his over 2,500 halves of coaching Duke. We only scored 88 pts in an entire game against Bama... in FOUR OVERTIMES.

Agree.

In the Hogs win over Seton Hall, everyone went on and on about the flagrant call being bad and how that swayed the game in the Hogs favor(by definition, it was a Flagrant foul). Then, as the roles are reversed in this game, crickets on two blatantly bad calls.

The call that irks me the most is the obvious deflection of a shot attempt that hits out of bounds. They looked at the replay and still upheld the call. At that moment, I knew this wasn't going to end well. It was obvious to everyone in america who had vision. Arkansas would have only had 1-2 seconds on the shot clock, but the Hogs had knocked down a three ball a possession or two before right at the shot clock buzzer, so there is a chance for that and also a chance at an offensive rebound and shot clock reset. Neither of which Arkansas was given a fair shot at.

Can you imagine 2 SEC teams in the Final Four?
It happened as recently as 2014, so yeah, I can imagine it

That SEC Network money is really starting to pay off. Only so much $ you can pour into football, eventually it had to spill over.

Lots of solid coaching hires in recent years, and the recruiting has picked up. Good to see the bar being raised.

Bottom fell out on LSU but at least we have something to aspire toward.

The last few seasons have been a real anomaly for LSU basketball. Historically y'all have had a solid program with flashes of greatness in it. Hopefully you bring in a good coach this time around because its a lot more fun when the Tigers are a good team.
