Where do you think a lot of fans hear it? ESPN is where. And they know how easily the average fan will buy into it. Sometimes I wonder if they don't purposefully create that kind of hype just to shoot it down.

Maybe the west was overrated.

However, if that is true, then the east was pure, steaming dogshit. In spite of the lackluster performance of the West, the East could do no better than 4-11 against them. Seriously, if the West is so overrated, the East certainly is no better than the C-USA or the MAC.

One would think that East fans would be depressed about that fact, rather than to gloat over the "overrated" West. And knowledgeable East fans no doubt are. But occasionally we get these johnny-come-lately fans who have only recently found themselves following big time college football in the last three years, who simply aren't yet astute enough to grasp basic facts. Perhaps in time they will become more knowledgeable.

From fans on a message board? You can find it from a select few if you look for it, but it isn't going to be the hallmark of message board fans/posts no matter the division or team affiliation.

So why are you all bothered when the West chest thumping came home to roost this time? You keep trying to make it about me and Mizzou.

My brother and I fought constantly...but let anybody else even think about taking on my brother and they had two of us to deal with. And he took up for me on more than one occasion. That's just the way it is. Lots of infighting but when the chips are down it's us against them.

But which one of them played a legitimate opponent?
They are the worst 2 teams in the division and they played in and dominated bowl games. That is an indication of the depth of the division which is the primary reason it is the best in football. It's top team is among the best in cfb and its worst teams are still pretty good.

There are no easy wins in the division.

Right back to the Straw man? MAC? CUSA?

Oh lord. You all cant really take a valid and honest criticism after all that chest thumping early in the year about the west without this kind of nonsense.

Pathetic.

The east never claimed anything other than that, did we? We never set ourselves up as great. Georgia had a chance to be....but we failed. It was only the west fans running around the Rant claiming to be the GOAT and putting the east down.

We might would be had the west not tried to rub our noses in the "greatness that is the west".
It gets a little tiring to have someone tell you how great they are all the time and how bad you are all the time.

I'm not. I'm just engaging in the discussion. Which division is better?

That is the reality. I'm not making it about that. I've seen your posting all season. This thread wasn't created in a vacuum.

What's pathetic is you back here this morning still trying to make yourself feel better about your season with this seven page thread.

I still think the West is better from top to bottom. Let's face it though, the West was overrated and there is only one dominant team in the SEC this year, Bama.

I don't know. Auburn and Georgia found Arkansas to be easy wins. And Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Alabama found A&M to be quite easy wins.

A&M struggled with a 6 loss West Virginia team and Arkansas beat a 7 loss Texas team. Let's not paint this into something it was not. Don't get me wrong...I actually like Arkansas, and don't mind A&M. But they were hardly signature wins.

In fairness, grace and humility are not the rant's strong suits regardless of what fanbase we're talking about.

Exactly.

the West was overrated
So they are first, but the gap isn't as large as some have claimed. I agree with that. The same can be said for the conference as a whole.

I don't think there is a dominant team in all of cfb this year. Any of the top 6 could have won a playoff. One of them will find a way.

Georgia is far from being anything other than really good. They can beat anyone on any given day IMO.

Of course its not in a vaccum. Its the direct result of the endless chest thumping by almost every single west fan base from the pre-season on. Only you are pulling that its about Mizzou. You have a Georgia fan, among many others, echoing the basic sentiment in this thread. I have never had any visions of grandeur about my team this year and fully expected to lose every game after Indiana.

Maybe you have an issue with Mizzou or myself that you need to deal with.

Absolutely the west is better. No doubt whatsoever. Anybody wanting to argue otherwise does not have a leg to stand on. The West is a very good division....but claims of GOAT and last place winning the east were absurd. Overrated is what the OP said and he is right. To argue otherwise is just as silly as saying the east is as good as the west....or even that the west is not good. The west IS better and the west is very good. But they were also overrated. Can anyone argue this?

That's not what I was claiming. They are the worst teams in the division and can still be very good on any given Saturday. It is a testament to the depth of the division, not a claim that either are to 10 teams.

That remains to be seen. I think Bama will flex it's muscle and win it all.
