Seriously, this team is really good. Just as good as our last two tourney teams.

It's been ages since we had two good guards coming off the bench.. Quarterman is the gem.

We aren't Kentucky. Their defense, talent and depth is unrivaled. But if anyone matches up well in the SEC I believe it is us... and maybe Arky.

We almost beat the wildcats twice last year. But that was a different kentucky team.

To all you other schools, congrats on your success in football this year.

In basketball.... cool it. We are taking back our spot back as the perennial 2nd best team.
Kentucky, LSU, Arky and Fla.

everyone else- yal no good

this guy gets it.

We're no Kentucky. But we'll take any road win can get. Let us dream a little about making the Big Dance.

Tonight, we are back, until are next late game meltdown....

There's only one thing wrong with LSU's basketball team, and it isn't the coach.
Is it the refs or the schedule?

you're using a rather limited definition of "relying on." one that i doubt basketball analysts would agree on when determining how deep a team is.

I disagree about Martin and Mickey.
when you say things like this, you don't have much credibility. basically every analyst has said that m&m are as good a tandem as it gets in the nation. there are scouts watching them basically every night. they absolutely are great and in no sense are they merely "good." mickey is one of a handful of players averaging a double double. martin is one of the best swing men in the game and he's 6-10. that's drawing a ton of attention.

I agree they are a good college tandem but that doesn't necessarily translate into great NBA prospects. I have yet to see one mock draft that has both of them getting drafted. I have seen 1 or the other in different mocks although there is a lot of season left. I think Mickey needs another year to improve his Offensive game and bulk up a little. He will get pushed around in the league for sure.

We certainly play up and down to our competition. I really don't know what to make of this team. Are we a solid team that plays down to bad teams or are we a bad team that plays up to good teams?

Mickey is a great college PF, but he has no NBA position. At 6'7" not many teams will take him as a PF. While his shot is smooth, he lacks enough ball skills to be a 3 in the NBA also.

He will find a spot in the NBA at some point, but I'm not sure he ever gets 1st round status.

when college analysts refer to m&m as great, they're not really referring to their nba potential. they're talking right now as college players compared to other current college players. and they're right.

Just love how Bama fans have nothing else left to cling on so they will try to act like their basketball team is worth a frick.

The football does not carry over to the basketball court Pawl.

Football? You mean the program that is 0-3 in their last 3 Sugar Bowls, and has given up 1,300 yards in their last 2?
At least their baseball and basketball programs have had an occasional post season appearance in the last 35 years (not anywhere near LSU's success of course in that time frame: with 16 CWSs and 6 NCs, 3 FinalFours, 3 EliteEights, and 6 SweetSixteens.
Of course, bama can always fall back on their wimmen's teams in gymnastics and softball. Oh I forgot, LSU has national contenders in those as well.

Kentucky scored 86 points in the 1st half to lead 86-42 at halftime and won 129-97
