Our fans would raise hell if we tried to do this. Yeah, "servicing" your locker in advance is a pain in the butt but buying it and have it cut off in the 3rd qrt for football or after halftime for BB would not go over well.

I think players should drink before during and after games. I think they could be awesome with a nice buzz on. Damn sure need it for mens BB when they go to the free throw line. The bricks lately come help build another lab building.

I'm pretty sure OM and MSU wouldn't be allowed to sell alcohol at games regardless of what the SEC said because state law won't allow alcohol sales on government property.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. It feels good being so moral.

If the SEC lifted the alcohol sales ban I would assume that law would be repealed with the quickness, but you never know with the 'Sip.

There was booz available in BHG prior to this in a very limited area. It is just expanding.

I don't think so. But, that's just my opinion. Plus, is state law or in the constitution? Plus, there wouldn't be that much money in it if limited to premium seating.

I'm talking about if the SEC ban on general seating sales was lifted, which would absolutely make a lot of money.

I think most folks probably prefer the locker stocking option in the premium seating areas.

Yeah - that's a whole different animal. I really don't see that happening anytime soon.

Kentucky has the Blue Room which was opened when they opened Rupp in the 1970's. Football stadium has had booze in the high donor areas for years.

Can you imagine what Tiger Stadium would be like if they sold alcohol stadium wide?

There is no ban on alcohol sales by the SEC on campuses, this is a myth.

Rumors are that Penn State will sell alcohol in all athletic facilities soon. Biggest reasons are (1) people are mad they can't drink on the golf course, and (2) we were turned down to host the Winter Classic (Penguins vs. Flyers... would've been incredible) because of it.

It'll happen everywhere soon, I think.

Arkansas has been selling beer & wine in the premium seating for a few years.

The suites have been full bar forever.

Add club seating to that, too. The West side and south end zone clubs, and the east side and south end zone suites in Tiger Stadium all serve alcohol.

Alcohol can also be had in the Suites, Champions Club, and the Tiger Terrace at Alex Box Stadium.

Legends Club and Courtside Club both serve alcohol.

Oxford just allowed cold beer. So I would say it will take 20 more years before they realize it would actually be safer to allow beer in the stadium. 18 year olds with flasks of ever clear and Evan Williams is not better than Miller lites

Pretty sure the simple workaround with the law would be a lease to the bulldog club or the equivalent at each school.

Remember all the coast casinos are on "state land" as well as many other venues that serve alcohol.

I could be off base but this law is likely a non issue if the schools decide to go for it. The huuuuuge liability issue is another matter entirely.

I would imagine the expenses of extra security and liability make this a not as profitable endeavor as some believe.

Correct, only for the rich folks, not the common fans in the stands. Like back in Rome when the gladiators fought, the rich were wined and dined while the masses just watched from the cheap seats.
