That just seems kind of silly. I mean, it really doesn't matter, but why would he let his father decide where he would go?

What if Tebow went Bama?
What if Lebron stayed at Cleveland?
What if Saban was still at LSU?
What if Charles Barkley was Govenor of Alabama?

When dad makes the decision.....hmmmmm

This is really Germans, like last December Germans.
Cam stated that his dad talked him into going to Auburn and said that he would have a good chance at a title at Auburn.
I do think that Cecil underestimated MSU's ability to get them playing well this year though.

Among what Cecil Newton had to say about State: “I didn’t think that was the right place for Cam. They just don’t have all the moving parts. Cam was going to have to be the star. He’d have to do everything himself. I didn’t want him to be a rented mule
Sound familiar

most fans who have visited in the past vs. the past few years have raved about the changes.

This has been reported before, waaay back before spring training. It just wasn't a big deal then because nobody expected Cam to be this good.
Parents make the decisions for recruits more than you would think. It's part of the process these days

Auburn has the better overall football program. It has paid off well for Newton and he seems to enjoy it!
Right. Auburn would probably, or maybe, be 4-4 without Newton. MS would be undefeated with Newton. Clearly one program is better than the other.

SI confirms what we all know: Cam wanted to go to MSU, Pat Dye chose AU for him.

State is 6-2 with Chris Relf at QB, Chris MFing Relf. Chiz would wish he was at Iowa State with Relf.

Cecil Newton
What a f'in prick. Why couldn't he just let his son decide what HE wanted to do?
quote:
Newton preferred Starkville because of his close relationship with Bulldogs coach Dan Mullen
"Sorry son, I want to live vicariously through you...so I won't let you make your own decisions. You're going to auburn"
What a douch.

Cam is a rented mule at AU. He'd be part of a team at MSU.
