Isn't Legion Field literally right across the street from the projects?
Right in the middle. It always stunk as a student to have to ride to Birmingham for the big games. It ruined the gameday experience for those games. Glad those days are long over.

Yep, the Super Dome is such a crappy venue that the NFL has had its premier game played there more than any other venue. And is close to awarding it to the Dome again. No stadium is in a "posh" part of any city, as the property values are too high. Seriously: the Rose Bowl being played in Palm Springs?

The Superdome is right in the middle of downtown, within walking distance of some of the finest hotels and restaurants on the planet, not to mention the Quarter - one of the largest tourist attractions in the world.
The Dome has gotten millions of dollars in upgrades and reneovations, including the one-of-a-kind lighting system on the outside, new state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems inside, new gold 'skin' and roof on the outside, and luxurious additions on the inside.

Should the SEC-CG move back to Legion Field?
I think the SECCG should move to the Superdome.
While we're at it -
Move the SEC Office to Poydras Street in downtown New Orleans.
Move the SEC Baseball Tournament to Zephyr Field in Metairie.
And hire LSU alumni for:
-Head of SEC Scheduling
-Head of SEC Officials
-Head Replay Official in the SECCG
That's exactly the way it is right now - just two states over, but somehow it's accepted.
Insanity.
Now we've got something called the 'SEC Network'.
Something tells me 'SEC' in 'SEC Network' stands for "Saban's Elected Cronies".
If LSU had all these 'advantages' I'd be embarrassed and ashamed as hell.

This will occur after they wheel the georgia dome to birmingham

Rotation doesn't work because you lose Atlanta forever. It would take the ACC about 20 minutes to come to a long-term annual agreement with the Georgia Dome.
That might happen, but look at the #'s of fans at the last few ACC championship games. Most of the SEC teams had better attendence at their respective spring games. If the SEC wanted a venue, it would get that venue.
Keep the SEC champ game in ATL.

They would get better attendance in the Dome, and the Georgia Dome would take the guaranteed annual game anyway.

No one watches ACC football.

An ACC team just won the national championship, and ACC fans do watch ACC football. More people nationally would watch it if there was a more hyped atmosphere, which the Dome would provide. A lot of the reason they've had such poor attendance is that their locations have sucked.
You can't think about this as a matter of which is the better conference. It's a business decision for the Dome to take the annual game if the SEC were to start rotating.

You could be correct, but ACC money isn't even close to SEC money. If it's about the almighty dollar, SEC wins.
I'm not sure the ACC would even sellout the GA Dome. They wouldn't have the last couple of years.

Not NO, but HELL NO, went to the games at Legion Field between UF and Bama. I froze one game and got rained on another. Plus, the facility is terrible, area is terrible and for some reason 70 thousand people decided to wear crimson to this neutral site. I could accept moving the game between different locations, but not Legion Field.

The Head of the SEC Scheduling is a MSU grad
The Head of the SEC Officials is a Bama grad
There is no such thing as "Head Replay Official in the SECCG"

UAB raises hell about Legion Field.
So, get for real.
The SECCG will stay in ATL.
Probably forever.

Take a break and learn to troll better. This is bad even by Rant standards. I went to Legion Field for Vandy' bowl game, and I was missing Vanderbilt Stadium. That's saying something.

Know how I know you've never been to Birmingham?

ATL has a huge contengion of ADCC alums.
UVA, UNC, FSU, GT, CU...they would sell out annually.

Here's a good microchasm of why this idea is beyond ridiculous:
A few years ago when Papa John's was the sponsor for Birmingham's bowl, Paul Finebaum sent an intern down there to the game. They tried to order pizza through a local Papa John's location, and Papa John's (THE SPONSOR OF THE GAME) would not deliver pizza there because it's in too dangerous of an area.
Not to mention, Legion Field had to tear down the upper deck because it was about to collapse, thus making the capacity only 71,000.

There are eight NFL stadia in the SEC footprint.
New Orleans
Dallas
Houston
Nashville
Atlanta
Jacksonville
St. Louis
Tampa
For illustration purposes, South Florida is not the SEC footprint.
Additionally, there are five stadia that host bowl games in the SEC footprint. All are shitholes.
Birmingham - no upper deck, in the projects
Mobile - too small
Memphis - need armed snipers to play a minor bowl game
Shreveport - Ha!
Orlando - Eh, but Jacksonville and Tampa are much better Florida options.
A simple Atlanta-Dallas-New Orleans rotation would be really cool. With all three of those cities on the national championship hosting rotation, it'd be cool to time it where the city hosts the SEC Championship the month before the national championship.
