Maybe, there isn't a project of crappy government homes next to the SuperDome, but don't act like its located in a posh area of town.

The new Georgia Dome looks like a Transformer's butthole.

Let me summarize for you how this weekly thread goes: Anyone who lives in Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee will vehemently claim that the game has to stay in Atlanta, since they can't afford and/or are unwilling to travel someplace beyond driving distance.

Everyone else will then explain that they're open to a rotation of cities, allowing for diversity of experience.

The Atlanta contingency will subsequently argue that ATL is the only city in the world with restaurants, an airport, and a facility for the game.

Thread over.

You forgot to add in that the Louisiana contingency will claim that their city/state is the only one in the world with any "culture"

The game belongs in Atlanta because it's centrally located within the conference (or was before A&M and Missouri joined).

Guess you missed the AU and Bama crowds at the last 5 title games.

The Georgia Dome is doomed and has never matched Legion Field's numbers.

Average Attendance of CG's

Legion: 79,718
Dome: 74,461

It's a historic field and centrally located within the SEC.

I say yes.

Take it from an Alabama fan.

It's a hole, and the area around it is a hole.

I'd rather see the game rotated between the 6 largest stadiums in the SEC than that.

I can't speak for Georgia or Tennessee, but bowl game attendance pretty much obliterates your theory on Alabama residents. Bama fans and Auburn fans travel insanely well.

Rotation doesn't work because you lose Atlanta forever. It would take the ACC about 20 minutes to come to a long-term annual agreement with the Georgia Dome.

Then you're letting another conference upstage you in the media hub of the southeast on a yearly basis.

The biggest reason to keep it in ATL you did not mention.

SEC in ATL keeps ACC out of ATL

The one thing that is an undeniable fact from this OP...you have never been to Legion Field.

The only nice thing I can say about Legion Field is that it that the design of the stadium created an incredibly loud stadium. That place literally rocked during a big game with nearly 84,000 packed in. Other than that, it was aging and in a terrible neighborhood that was hard to navigate in and out of.
