I drink before hand and bring my bourbon in for the game.

I wouldn't pound bourbon before the game if I could get a beer in there
jk yes I would

Only if you want to stay home to watch it or go to it

I wouldn't. I've learned my lessons with liquor before/during games. I'm man enough to admit that I simply can't handle it. I think I have a problem stopping once I start, which doesn't bode well with liquor drinking.

He'll no. Alcohol should be illegal to consume in this country period.

Who exactly is this troll targeted at?

I have never understood the ban, so the obvious answer is yes, they should allow it. Regardless of whether any one individual says he'd buy beer at a game or not, the fact is they'd sell tons of it at the end of the day and increase revenues even more. People who drink will drink regardless of whether or not it's sold so make money on it while you can. Don't think I've ever heard one good argument on why not to sell it.

a) Past SEC deaths due to booze including the one that killed several after the UT vs UK game
b) Money is not necessarily made by the schools but by the corporations like Bud (producer) and Sodexo (middleman)
c) Southern sports passion + free flowing booze = disaster waiting to happen
d) Selling booze in states with 21 age drinking law is asking for lawbreaking
e) Monopoly control just means taking it out of the hands of the individuals, damn un-American
f) more monitoring staff and cleanup staff means less net money
g) TBS and the folks who get up every 10 mins to take a piss. Booze magnifies this in the worst way

This is my concern. These are the people ruining the benefit of selling alcohol for everyone else. One or two more for these people and it's just not a good situation to be around.

I thoroughly enjoy being good and fricked up when I'm able to make it to BR from Nashville.

It should be only beer and wine, NO LIQUOR

Has little to do with selling it at games versus irresponsibility that would have happened whether you sold it at the game or not.

Sure AB will make money but so would the school. Not to mention the advertising that has been pulled by companies like AB.

It's actually more controlled if the school is selling it. What the school has no control over is the alcohol being consumed that isn't being sold by them.

Meh. So is selling it at the grocery store then.

e) Monopoly control just means taking it out of the hands of the individuals, damn un-American
Not sure what you're saying here. What is damn un-American is not giving people the choice to drink or not. It is legal after all.

f) more monitoring staff and cleanup staff means less net money
You will never make less money at the end of the day because you're selling alcohol. Staff costs is BS IMO. What would have a bigger impact in all likelihood are insurance premiums.

People seem to deal with it at NBA games, MLB games, NFL games, NHL games, college baseball games that aren't played at a college and countless other venues. Hardly a reason not to sell it either.

I'm doing good bro. LOL, just stirring shite up.

not a good excuse, since drinking still occurs before and after games. rampantly. I mean I'm sure someone at some point had beaten someone to death with a shoe but they haven't banned shoes at games

LOL if you don't think the schools would get a cut

it already flows

so how do restaurants, bars, liquor stores, pro events, concerts, festivals, etc get away with it?

i don't understand
quote:
f) more monitoring staff and cleanup staff means less net money
why need extra cleanup staff? People already clean up empties and puke after games as is.

You honestly think people having to go to the bathroom more often is a reason schools contemplate in whether to sell or not?
