I think they should. The NFL is their future investment not winning some lame trophy to make the Bama redneck fan base happy.

Any Bama player that thinks he will be drafted has no buisness playing in a bowl game. They should be thinking about their future and family.

Should be mandatory that if you are not returning the next year, you can't play and all redshirted can play without it taking away their redshirt status for that year.

See, that's the difference. They aren't regular bowl games. They are playoff semifinals and final.
If Bama was just going to the Sugar Bowl, I'd have no real problem with them sitting out. A championship is too historically important to flake on your team though.
