What's an injury going to do?
-Ap tore his ACL at 30 and is back putting up 100 yd games.
-Ridley tore his ACL at LSU was drafted and played in the NFL. His injury isn't why he isn't starting anywhere anymore
-gurley tore his and went first round, Hill rushed for 1400 and didn't go 1st rd. Teams don't give a shite. And if gurley isn't in the league in 5 yrs it won't be bc of his college injury
- yes it sucks about lattimore but didn't he actually get to retire at SF? He still got his shot. He tore both knees in 3 yrs of college, you think that wasn't going to happen in his first few years in the NFL anyway with his running style?
Maybe playing college football is an incredible experience and he enjoys it... The NFL will be there, whether he gets injured in college, the pros, or both.
If he sat out that would be a turnoff to me as a gm. A me first kind of guy that doesn't love the game. Not to mention he will only get better his jr year... Maybe not physically but mentally understanding the game (pass protection and such)
Should we change the rule for the 1 guy every 5 yrs that should leave early, bc for every 1 that should 50+ will leave when they shouldn't. Then they don't make it big, don't get a degree, and don't get the incredible experience that is college football

are these same people telling him to skip a season gonna be the same ones who say he bailed on his team and his selfishness cost LSU if LSU flounders in 2016 without him?
I think if a clear #1 pick, especially at the RB position where it's super rare, establishes that he's holding out for the draft then no. I don't think so.
Part of Clowney's problem is that he was still "playing" his junior year.

If there's a way for him to do it without hurting his draft stock too much, I hope he does and saves his body the wear and tear.
RBs have a tragically short shelf life in the League and I hope he's able to maximize his worth.

I think people bring up Gurley and Lattimore because both had injures in college that have effected their careers when they didn't have anything to prove in there 3rd year in college. I think he should be on a carry count to try to help keep him from getting injured. He can't let LSU ride him in weak out of conference games because he is likely going to have a large load in conference.

frick that. I want him to hurt his draft stock so Dallas can get him around pick 25 in the draft.
Obviously selfish thinking here as a Cowboys fan.

A player skipping a season for a team that tanked to get him. Modern sports

That's the real question since it's uncharted territory really. Can he skip it without lowering his stock? He's already going to sign a rookie contract that won't pay him what he's worth.

quote:You mean like when he got suspended and all the analysts and scouts said if he didn't play another college down it wouldn't affect his draft stock? In a season where we were already out of contention for the East too.
People say that but I don't follow. Gurley has no love for UGA and would have bolted early in a heartbeat if he could have.
And he still did (and got hurt, and that's why people say players should get out as soon as they can). But if he didn't care he wouldn't have played another down at UGA and would've still been a high first round pick.

The NFL should just allow the greater than Herschel Walker to get drafted.
But injuries can happen anytime and i dont think LF is scared the way he trucked Auburn below

The PLAYERS take out their own policies and they are very pricey. There is also a limit on the payout.
On Russilo today they mentioned that the school covers it. So perhaps they had their info wrong.
Regardless, they only provide protection for those projected to go in the first 3 rounds. I would suspect that it would be pretty easy to recoup that loss if you are drafted. Apparently the NCAA offers it at 0% financing, so I would suspect that it isn't a massive financial burden.

Just vaguely enough to say it's unrelated

I officially sympathize with the other teams' fans who are already tired of hearing of LF. Who can I give a beer to to make up for this topic we've seen all over the internet already?

He's on track for 300+ carries this year, only 2 players in the SEC have went for over 300 carries since 2008...
CAP in '14... 303
Tre Mason in '13... 317
Tough call...

Why? He's a running back. He needs to do everything he can to improve his stock

Honestly idk. It'd be a gamble either way.
He won't sit I out, but here's just hoping he's able to avoid injury.
