Good news for Bama... If you pay, he will stay.

Bad News for Bama.... It will cost Bama a mint. (10 million a year is not out of the question)

I don't think its just a shake down for money or he wouldn't have said he would only consider UT. Plus he could walk in and tell Bama he wants X amount and they throw it at him in a heartbeat.

UT could be on top as fast as Bama was and is about the only school that is almost a guarantee to rise up as quickly. Which would explain the interest in only them more than just wanting more money. If he enjoys building up the teams he can't be having fun at Bama right now. UT would be a new challenge and an opportunity to have a NC at 3 different schools. I don't know if he will leave but I think there is more to it than money.

I just think the "only Texas" part is an odd way to get the most money and not going out of your way to get it into the media when it happened to get the fans to push the schools. Seems more like the fact of coaching at UT, for whatever reason, would seem more likely. But we will see after this year. If he doesn't leave after the key players he is losing then he likely isn't at all.

1) Yes, Saban would dominate at Texas and restore them to elite in 2-4 years.

2) No, he's not going anywhere. He is retiring at Alabama.

3) If he left, the Alabama name-brand recruits itself at this point. Alabama is a powerhouse and will remain that way until they (again) get caught cheating and get hit with sanctions.

Looks like the a-hole gump fans are even getting to Nick.

I'm not sure why some of y'all are blowing your loads over the "Saban would consider no other job but Texas" line. Whether or not Saban is actually serious about going to Texas, of course Sexton is going to tell UT that he would consider it. How else is he going to get them to pitch a number so he can take it back to Bama and see if they will match or beat it?

TEXAS REP: Excuse me, Mr. Sexton, but we are considering offering your client an obscene sum of money to come coach at our school. You'd get a nice cut of it too, of course.

Now, all that said, I'll be the first to admit I don't have any clue what Saban is going to do. I don't know the man personally, like most on this board seem to do. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if he stays. I would be a little surprised if he were to leave, but not so surprised it would make my monocle pop out. Bama will be ok either way, although obviously I'd prefer that he stay.

First things first...first he gonna skull frick the LSU Tigers, Curb Stomp Mississippi State, B**** slap Chattanooga, Sing "We are the champions" at Jordan Hare, Win The SECCG in Atlanta, then lift up the crystal football in Pasadena.....

Then when Alabama gives him another 5 Million to sign again....Tide Fans wine and dine, the rest whine....next case
