Maybe it was Archie saying get your shite together before you blow it. Nothing else this offseason seemed to change things, so Archie decided to make an attempt.

Look 2 points:

1. Archie knew this would be a big story.

2. It could have been handled differently

These 2 points can coexist with you hating JFF and him being whatever kind of terrible monster you want. Answering yes to both questions doesn't change that JFF is a ___________ in your opinion.

I think the answer to both questions is yes. (in fact its clear the answer to both is yes).

Is there anyone in the Mob willing to answer this

First off, Archie could give two shits if so much as made the classified section of the Lagniappe.

Second, it could have been handled differently...if John Daly was hosting the camp.

I've been to plenty of camps where people who get sick basically wait it out for a day and then get back out doing activities once they're well. You would have to be really sick to get sent home, and it was clear from Johnny being out on College Station that night that he wasn't near sick enough. To think that he could even use that as an excuse is ridiculous as well.

Maybe he felt that holding him accountable was important (its obvious no one else has) and that it might just help him more in the long run. It is obvious that Archie knows what it takes to be successful and with the Aggies season being directly tied to how JFF performs on the field then you would think that more people from the Aggie fan base would be speaking out about all the off the field antics instead of writing them off as "normal college behavior".

If this was the qb of a team that I was a fan of I would hope that individuals like the Manning family would take the time to show him what it means to be a professional and if you can't meet our guidelines then it would be best for you to go home.

I wonder what happened when Eli was late. Some say Eli liked to party

I hope this Johnny oversleeping "scandal" is everything you guys hope that it is, really, whatever that may be.

I just find it outstanding that the Rant is soooo mad at JFF for oversleeping. Priceless.

I have been thinking this over and regardless of the fact that JFF messed up - Archie could have been cool about it and said basically anything. hang around and we will say your arm hurts. Or let him play, whatever. But send him home?

Talk trash on JFF all day long if you want, and messing up like that should not be done, but the posters acting like the Archie acted to protect his business by covering the real reason - you are more clueless than the people you accuse of same.

Archie knew this story would blow up if he sent him home. He was making a story. Anything attached to JFF goes straight to the presses. Its free advertising for Manning. Most people, especially at this type event would have handled it differently.

He made it a story. JFF may have f'up - but there was no threat to the business other than the Manning academy getting 10 million more mentions.

I haven't seen this kind of off the wall rationalization in a long time. Are you one of my ex girlfriends?

Yep, thats all it is. You sound in denial, the dude is a tool with terrible self-control, and it wouldn't surprise me if players questioned him if he gave them any sort of advice or command once the season comes along because of his dumb behavior. Off the field issues could effect the on-field player performance because of that. I would be pissed off if I was a player on A&M working my arse off everyday, doing the right things, going to class, staying out of trouble, the works, and then when football season gets underway you have to listen to arse clown screw off bark orders at you. Not setting a good precedence for A&M to continue to succeed. I'd actually think less of it if Manziel had actually led A&M to a national championship, but he still has lots of work left to do and A&M ultimately finished 5th in the SEC (SEC members voted the official A&M placing as 5th), hope he sees it that way and gets focused because nobody else is pussy-footing around in the offseason like Manziel has, you can bet your arse on that.

But his own daddy said he was recovering from dehydration.

A pro would know to drink some water before he passes out. I am disappoint.

Ir doesn't matter how Manziel got sick, no laws were broken no one was harmed, no ones property was damged.

The haters that jump to call him a tPOS can go frick themselves.

You are comfortable with your 20 yr old QB doing all this public drinking?

And its laughable that the Mannings used Johnny Douchbag for free press.
