Some of the playoff committee members were literally politicians.

Here's your current committee.

Chris Ault, retired Nevada football coach
Mitch Barnhart, Kentucky AD
Boo Corrigan, NC State AD
Chet Gladchuck, Navy AD
Jim Grobe, retired Wake Forest football coach
Mark Harlan, Utah AD
Warde Manuel, Michigan AD
David Sayler, Miami (Ohio) AD
Will Shields, former Nebraska player
Gene Taylor, Kansas State AD
Joe Taylor, former Virginia Union AD
Rod West, former Sugar Bowl president
Kelly Whiteside, former college football reporter

None of these have held elected office. None appear to have ever sought elected office.

Of the prior members, it looks like only Condi Rice could be considered a politician and she served in an appointed position. She's also been gone since 2017.

Yes it fricking was. Along with J Travis going down. Bama is the team to win this shite. Or TX. FSU wasn’t going to make it. Yeah, that’s speculative, but we all now how likely it is.

They said strength of schedule was a big part of the decision - but he said the main thing was when they asked the coaches in the room who they would want to play they all said fsu over Bama. Did y’all
not watch the committee chair speak?

You’d think he has more important things to worry about. If not, it may be time to replace him.

It happens that way sometimes. If they don't have the best team during the 2nd week of the New Year, then poke fun at them. Wait till then.

Why? They shouldn’t have been in that situation, just like they shouldn’t be in the playoffs. They didn’t earn it. However, it turns out is irrelevant.

Yep, Auburn fumbled a punt in the last minute, then Alabama proceeded to lose 21 yards, and then won on a hail mary pass. Now they think they are the best team. ROTFL

Yep. And that was it. Nothing else of significance happened the next week.

You do realize that the CFP has nothing to do with the NCAA, correct? They are an entity of their own. Who exactly do you think he can go after? Which universities?

Constantly. However, I also believe that an accounting of my tax dollars is also prudent.

You clowns ever hear of block grants? It’s the way the feds subsidize the states to keep them in line. Do what I say, you get the matching funds. Don’t do what I say, don’t get those funds.

I think it’s very plausible that this decision will impact the process. Will it lead to cutting funds or sanctions? Probably not, but if they dig in and there are a bunch of shenanigans between the committee and the SEC…….

Well...... Just so you know. These are federally funded institutions we are talking about. So, Congress does have say over their administration along with the states that fund them as well. Surely they knew this was a possible outcome?

I didn’t know that.

And all this time, I thought that the CFB playoff committee made these decisions. I had no idea that the universities were behind this most outrageous decision re FSU.

Go get ‘em, Rick!

The Committee should tell him to frick off.

Time to interject a little reality into this converstion.

The BCS Championship and everything associated with it is owned by a private company, an LLC named BCS Properties, LLC. That's a private company. The management board is made up of the conference commissioners...who also are not state or federal employees.

Short of receiving a subpoena, the Committee should tell him to pound sand. And if by some miracle the Senate does issue a subpoena, he should wipe his arse with it and send it back.
