I'd love for someone to explain how the ole miss defense is going to be worse.

Expecting Chavis to come in and improve a defense, that has mediocre talent other than one DE, by 60+ spots?

Good luck with that.

They were inconsitant. When they were bad, they were really bad. When they were good, they were decent. Regardless state will be in every game they play this year because of how good the offense will be.

Agree. Their downfall was the big play.

not saying it'll happen with a&m, but it is possible. Robb Smith did just that in his first season at Arkansas

Jesus christ. Not sure I have ever seen a fanbase more butthurt by losing a coach that was supposedly "over the hill" and "wasn't wanted anyway".

True, but did any of you expect it? That type of turnaround doesn't happen very often.

Expecting improvement is fine, expecting that type of turnaround is just crazy. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment.

It's no different than some LSU fans that are expecting the offense to be tops in the conference next year. It's not impossible, but highly improbable.

Ole Miss - Down. Lost a lot.

We're either first or second in returning starters next year.

And I find it hilarious that Bo Wallace sucked all year, held us back, etc, yet posters state that he won't be easily replaced. Which is it?

While I think replacing Wallace is an issue, the bigger one is replacing your 2 First Team All SEC DB's.

SO everyone agrees that LSU is a lock to finish last in the division?

What do your unreasonable expectations have to do with me being butthurt? Even if Dan Quinn were walking through aTm's door, expecting that big of an improvement is asinine.

LSU is bringing back so much there's no way you can be objective and think they won't be better.

And we are all just letting Aggy being ranked ahead of LSU in all these 2014 lists go?

Kevin Steele is a massive downgrade from John Chavis, and defense is what makes LSU competitive most years. They sure as hell won't be beating anyone with that outdated offense and terrible quarterback play.

I agree he's a downgrade. However, LSU has vastly superior position coaches at every level on D. That's the only silver lining really.

That's my point. Expecting something like that is just plain stupid.
