if we can find the official prediction thread, I'm fairly certain LSU fans on this site picked LSU to win it all this year, most citing the number of returning starters as the reason for confidence. If that's the case, how can you not see it as a disappointment? You guys set the expectations, not me.
Had I known we would have lost what we did when I made my preseason prediction, I wouldn't have even considered thinking about going undefeated. Injuries are a part of the game but look at our roster on 1/9 and then go see how many of those guys are on the roster now.

Miles did his best coaching job this year getting 10 wins.

I'm just trying to have a discussion about SEC football, can we please drop the personal attacks and talk about football? That is what this board is for right?
you don't really expect me to fall for this, do you?

Obviously things happened as the season unfolded that no one could predict. I was grading the teams based on how they fared against the expectations BEFORE the season started. I thought that was clear in the OP.

the end result (due to injuries, suspensions, etc...) was 38 starts by freshmen (31 by true freshmen)...Arkansas played a ton of young players, so you can relate. the biggest losses were probably Mathieu (he probably changed the outcome of 2 games the year before), and the LT Faulk. none of this is an excuse, every team had attrition, injuries, etc...part of the game. but there is no doubt losing a game changer in Mathieu severely hurt, and it took the OL 4 games or more to find itself once Faulk went down (during that time they had another starting OL - man quit, and another starter miss games on the back-end with an injury.
i think blue's (rb) injury hurt us too (folks can argue that all they want). it's one thing to lose depth players, but LSU lost it's fair share of starters and secondary players before league play even started.

Failing to even get to a BCS bowl and close games against Ole Miss and Arkansas were the end result.
the loss at Florida was one thing, but the loss at home to Alabama was another. should have won that one, and you're right Miles didn't help. but to say this year was one of his worst is not accurate. one of his best? no. but not even close to being his worst.
eta - here's a list of starts by the freshmen:
Mills, CB - 12
Alexander, RT - 8
Turner, RG - 6
Louis, LB - 5
Hill, RB - 4
Alexander, LB - 2 (then he got hurt)
Collins, CB - 1

The disappointment is not going to a BCS bowl. Winning a MNC is hard to come by through the SEC.
Also, its one thing to say the season was disappointing and another to say "its Miles worst year ever".

You were not only grading on preseason expectations when you make a loaded comment on Miles coaching job over the course of the year. So, yes, I agree that the expectations for LsU were not might and could have been too high. But the totality of your comments can be taken as a troll.

Our losses weren't as bad though
WHAT? You played 2 regular season games against tough competition were beat in one and lost the other. Barely escaped the SEC as well.

Arkansas- after finishing last year with a cotton bowl victory and a high pre-season ranking, many hog fans hoped this would be the year. Then Bobby wrecked his bike and the melt down ensued from there, epic even by Arkansas standards- expectations missed horribly
I enjoyed every minute of your absolute debacle, off an on the field. Happened at just the right time and to the right coach.
Laughing at Arkansas became cliche. That's how far you fell...right through cliche.

If you had told me on sept 1 that LSU would go 10-2 and finish second in the west I would have been truely dissapointed.
If you would have added tigers lose both starting tackles and starting guard with their replacements being two freshmen and a guard that hadn't played a snap at tackle while at LSU. Plus starting RB. That's only on offense.
Then top that off with all american CB and starting LB suspended for the year. I would have been pleasently suprised by that record. As for the LB spot, tigers started four different players due to injury and illness. At CB LSU ended up starting true freshman.
With that all said and done LSU was VERY and I mean VERY CLOSE to undefeated regular season once again. Minter doesn't get hurt for those two series against the gators they might not score those TDs. Tigers were five yards away from victory against bama.
So yes all things considered with the way the season played out I was dissapointed with the final record. How that team was able to finish 10-2 and so close to 12-0 is remarkable though.

LSU Sunshine pumpers are in denial. Both of our losses are CLM's fault. If he wasn't a moron we would be playing ND on 1/7

Don't remember the Fla game but the Bama loss is solely on Miles--and no I'm not a Miles hater
