With the regular season concluded, I thought it would be a good time to review where everyone ended the season vs. the expectations going into the season. Will start with the West.

Alabama- even with winning it all last year, Alabama was expected to to be in the hunt again this year and despite a stunning loss to A&M they've done just that----expecations met or exceeded

A&M- all the talk before the season was about how the newbies were gonna suffer the wrath of the SEC. Not only did A&M make their presence felt in the SEC this year, they knocked off Bama in a shocker---- expectations far exceeded

Arkansas- after finishing last year with a cotton bowl victory and a high pre-season ranking, many hog fans hoped this would be the year. Then Bobby wrecked his bike and the melt down ensued from there, epic even by Arkansas standards- expectations missed horribly

LSU- with almost all the key players back from a team that played for the title last year and hope for better QB play, most if not all LSU fans felt like they would be able to push past Bama this year and win it all. Failing to even get to a BCS bowl and close games against Ole Miss and Arkansas were the end result. One of Miles' worst years as a coach at LSU- expectations too high?

Auburn- the descent from the highs of winning a championship continued, and were much worse than anyone expected. New coaches were the hope for turning this season around but Auburn was historically bad resulting in the firing of Chizik, just two years removed from a championship- expectations not met

MSU- ask any MSU fan at the beginning of the season and this was going to be their break out year. And it was, until they stopped playing directional schools and their season went into the tank, capped off by a humiliating defeat in the egg bowl by a first year SEC coach in Freeze. Questions emerged about Mullins ability to take the program any higher than 8 wins.- expectations not met, possibly too high for MSU.

Ole Miss- most Rebel fans were just hoping for improvement this year and were pleasantly surprised by Freeze who managed to break even and knock off bitter rival MSU in the egg bowl. The future seems bright after such a bleak stretch for Ole Miss- expectations met

Just my thought ranters, feel free to discuss

Between graduation, injury and suspension LSU only actually brought back 9 of 22 from the BCSCG

I would say Im amazed at how retarded you are ... but I would be just fooling myself.

LSU was devasted by injuries/players leaving during season and still managed 10 wins.

It was actually probably one of Miles best job keeping the team together to achieve double digit wins.

God you Arkansas fans smart ....

if we can find the official prediction thread, I'm fairly certain LSU fans on this site picked LSU to win it all this year, most citing the number of returning starters as the reason for confidence. If that's the case, how can you not see it as a disappointment? You guys set the expectations, not me.

Huh????? Almost a totally new secondary, new linebackers, new WR's and a new QB. Don't forget about having to start two freshmen on the right side of the line for a good part of the season. But you're right, almost all the key players were back.

I am never surprised but the ignorance of posters on here. Frankly, this was one of Miles best years with what he had to face.

Wait, you are an Arky fan. Never mind, I understand now.

because you're conveniently leaving out all the players we lost to injury or suspension either right before or very early on in the year. not surprised you did this as you clearly have an agenda, but don't expect me not to call you out on your bullshite.

I'm just trying to have a discussion about SEC football, can we please drop the personal attacks and talk about football? That is what this board is for right?
