teams like UGA and UF brought in around 30 million with due to their own 3rd teir rights tv deals. bama 28 million total and I am sure arkie, lsu, auburn, and a/m are around the same.

Big 12 had about $100MM less than the SEC to distribute. Texas may have gotten $26MM though.

The Big 12 gave out $22 million per school to 8 schools while TCU and WVU only got $11 million. What a terrible and uneven conference.

Jeremy Foley set to build indoor soccer practice field.

I think LSU is going to go ahead with their plans of an indoor pool for their Ladies Aquatic Quidditch program.

I don't know what LSU's 3rd tier rights totaled in revenue. However, LSU does have a third tier deal with Cox Sports & another 3rd tier revenue stream in the geaux zone.

I'm wondering if you've ever met any Aggie fans outside the Rant...

Also, I think you may just have a problem with Texans in general, rather than A&M fans specifically.

I am well aware of the Sun Sports deal that UF has but I am not aware of any other SEC programs that had great tier 3 deals other than some PPV stuff.

Texas A&M's competitiveness this year was the best thing that could've happened to the conference. The more TV sets there are watching SEC games, the more everyone makes.

I don't have a link but I know UF has a deal with sun sports, Uga with IGF or somehting and both those are more than ten mill a year. Bama is with CSS and is around eight mill a year.
Like UNC, they are in the 12 mil a year on their local cable deal, why do you think all the teams were ?ing these conf networks... If you take UF/UGA/Bama I bet they made more TV money than anyone in the big ten....

When the dust settles, if the addition of these two schools isn't worth 5M+/School annually was it even worth it?

I wasn't old enough to hate the move from 10-12, but I absolutely get it now. I can't imagine a world where I ever look back on the addition from 12-14 in 2012 as a good thing.

Keep in mind this is before any SEC Network money kicks in.

I understand that, but it also is before all of the schools give up third tier rights, which is going to mean teams with big regional cable deals are going to have to make that up plus some in the future with the SEC Network.

nobody is going to struggle financially because the SEC added the two teams, but I question whether or not it was worth adding 2 teams to what was a pretty great setup just for the sake of a little cash.

I'd question that too, if I were you. I'd guess within the next few years the answer will be a definitive yes. A&M's enrollment keeps going up and up in the biggest state in the SEC. It will work out very well for A&M and the SEC, sez me. I know more than a few here hate Clay Travis, but he had a meaningful article about this yesterday at outkickthecoverage.com. He said a lot of things, but the one that stands out to me is CBS's deal with the SEC did not change with the addition of A&M and Mizzou. So whatever money was distributed to 12 teams is now distributed to 14. I think this means CBS is going down, once the contract is up. I'll miss Verne, but he'll probably be dead anyway.

But to me (admittedly the outsider) even if the payout doesn't improve there's more to this than dollars. We could go on about that all night, so I won't start.

Still is. Bitch could never find another sucker and she finally lost her Julia Roberts lookalike thing she had going for her and now her main mission in life is fricking with my current wife's head whenever she gets a chance.

aTm is just like her.

Wut?

I'm half Texan. My mother is a born and bred dyed in the wool born in El Paso Texan. I've got tons of family in Texas. I don't hate Texans - I hate Longhorn fans. I've got a cousin that played TE at Baylor. I don't hate Texans, I love most Texans ... they are SC's kindred spirit in terms of independence minded, Republic minded (and we are both fighting the transplants ... Texas from California and South Carolina from the Midwesterners), ... but we tailgated with a ton of A&M fans who came to our games this past season running advance party, who live locally, and I enjoyed the heck out of them in person. I've got a few good friends who live in Houston, Katy, Dallas, etc., one of them in Katy is a business partner of mine.

I just bust A&M balls around here because some of the shite I see posted by A&M fans is crazy overboard shite talking nonsense after just one season in the league.

There is only one prima donna fanbase in this conference - we don't need two. I rest well knowing that this conference will knock you back down to reality, and humble you, in a hurry. Just the moment you think you've arrived it'll bitch slap you back down to earth before you know what happened - and it might happen to A&M this year. You just never know.

A&M had a great season last year, no doubt about it. I wish we were playing y'all this year - I'd love to see your offense versus our defense.

Looking forward to y'all coming to Colatown in 2014.
