Nobody else thinks it's ridiculous that this thread devolved into an ACTUAL discussion about mascot weights?

LSU Mike IV weighs 450 lbs

Pretty sure Mike will hit around 600 lbs.

No idea the hog was that big. I figured 300lbs

Eithere there is a ton of reader incomprehension going on here, or I am the one reading it wrong. "Weight of mascot's real-life counterpart" = real animals of whatever the mascot is hence:

elephant
Bear?
Pig? (Hogzilla variety)
Tiger/Tiger/Tiger?
Gator?
Gay farmer
commodore
Wildcat?
BullDog (Uga fat variety)
Bully
Coon hound
Collie (ETA Screw up. Wait that the hell is this collie thing have to do with farmers? Pick a mascot you weirdos )
Gamecock

From Wikipedia:

"An average adult male tiger from Northern India or Siberia outweighs an average adult male lion by around 45.5 kg (100 lb).[58] Males vary in total length from 250 to 390 cm (98 to 154 in) and weigh between 90 to 306 kg (198 to 675 lb)"

"The current record weight in the wild was 389 kg (858 lb) for a Bengal tiger shot in 1967"

790 lb Feral Pig caught

The sizes aren't that different.

Big male gators can weigh over 900 pounds.

From wiki:
quote:

Adult male American alligators measure up to 3.4 to 4.6 m (11 to 15 ft) in length, and can weigh up to 453 kg (999 lb). Females are smaller, measuring around 3 m (9.8 ft).

Black bears are generally in the 150-250 range. I remember an 800 pounder being killed in New York a couple of years ago but they don't get that big in the south. And its always worth repeating that the black bear native to the Gulf states is officially known as the Louisiana Black Bear.

So geaux University of Mississippi Louisiana Black Bears.

Well we know the Aggies are a little light in the loafers. Amirite?

Yup. We ALL know this.

If we were literally interested in a list like this then, yeah, The Crimson Tide would kick everyone's asses. Then (and only then) let's not forget that Volunteers, Rebels, and Aggies usually keep firearms handy. Commodores may have nothing more than sleek little bronze telescopes, but they may have nuclear submarines and/or aircraft carriers. (In which case The Crimson Tide is especially the shite).

If tigers could stand up to man brains then there would be more than like 11 of them still tigering their tiger asses in the wild. Poor damned tigers.

Hogs and chickens and bulldogs have been domesticated by rebels, commodores, volunteers, and aggies. Alligators make OK boots, but then again they MAY be around another 65 million years.

Beer 4. GEEEEK!

EDIT: Hell, I read "weight" like metaphysically. Beer 5!

People are way, way misjudging how much big gators weigh.
