Yea, not very many B1G-SEC matchups. Tons of SEC-Pac 12 matchups, though. That is very cool to see.
Part of that may be due to the high number of SEC-B1G bowl tie-ins.
There are 5 potential SEC-B1G bowl pairings to go with several ACC & Big-12 matchups. There are no SEC-Pac12 outside of a potential playoff meeting. If you want to play a Pac-12 team, you have to do in a regular season OOC game.
Edited to add: You're not going to see more than one good OOC matchup until the playoffs expand to 8 games with the P5 champs getting automatic bids. None of the major contenders are going to risk being eliminated from contention before conference play ever starts.

Still not enough, IMO. Everybody should be playing a minimum of 2 marquee games OOC each year.
By everybody, you mean every D1 team?
Because the only conference that halfway does this now is the Pac12.
The SEC has had a couple of instances. (Tennessee, LSU, MSU.)
I know we played North Carolina and West Virginia both in 2010; and Oregon and West Virginia both in 2011.

It will be well attended, but less than the following year with FSU

FSU game to open the new Falcons stadium will be an incredibly tough ticket.
agreed, only because its back to a reasonable driving distance and the growing new young Alabama alumni population in ATL, coupled with the first game in the stadium. It really could be against Louisville and probably do the same.

Both the team and the city
I hope yall fail miserably with attendance on this one. Not because its bama, but because the neutral site games need to go or at least lessen

Agree - the Wisconsin game last year was not a sell out either. I think there were a pretty solid number of Bammers there (which is shocking, I wouldn't have made that trip if someone gave me tickets and a hotel), but nobody from Wisconsin came.

I totally agree. I think it's cool for a every once in a while matchup (FSU vs Bama at the new stadium, perfect example), but the idea of doing it every year sucks. I really have grown to hate it.

What's considered a "marquee" game

I'm guessing that a minimum of half the games scheduled for 2020 and beyond will never happen. Games scheduled that far in advance seem to be inordinately prone to teams changing their minds, backing out, or just plain forgetting they were supposed to meet.
Okay, maybe not that last one, but it would be hilarious if that happened.

Get ready for Lamar Jackson. He should be a senior by then, unless he leaves early.

it will take a diminished payout/high attendance cost to stop it. Your administration is currently making a few million extra a year on it. They actively seek this out as opposed to home and away games because of the money(MSU example)
Your fanbase is growing tired of the travel to meh locations, which are almost always where the neutral site games are. Ours grew tired with the Atl trips, we scheduled Oregon in Dallas, I hope we fail at that one as well.

The worst of the trips is the Dallas game. It is a legitimate plane ride or long drive trip for everyone, and it has become an every 2 year thing. The Atlanta game is fine with me once every 2-3 years (obviously personally). It is close, we have tons of alumni here, etc.
But yea, never having a big OOC game at home (or being able to make fun road trips) just sucks.

I had a good time at the Cotton Bowl this past year, but outside of that I have no desire to fly there for a game in September against another random team not from there.

LSU and Bama will usually play an interesting ooc game every year. I like Arkansas and Ole Miss' too.

Ryen Russilo made a good point regarding this. Everyone says to schedule more power5 teams etc etc. But, if Stanford would have scheduled Polytech State School for the Blind instead of Northwestern, they would have been in the playoff this year

Yea, if you play in the SEC or PAC 12 it is in your best interest to play 1 decent OOC game and 3 lame games if you are only thinking about winning a title (and maybe you should).
Just from a fan's perspective, I'd rather see another game against Duke, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas State, etc than one against Chattanooga or Mercer.
