Some better than not chances....

lost to them last year.

I don't know who's going to win that game, but the O/U will probably be 60+. Thinking that defense will have anything to do with this game for either team is a mirage, this is simply going to be a shootout.

WKU beating UK wouldn't be an upset. They were better than UK last year. Throw in Petrino.....

I was just wondering why you thought VT was going to beat Bama. It seemed like a strange pick, that's all.

Mississippi State followed by Georgia and USC. Oklahoma State's a good team and we all know Dan Mullen hasn't fared well against good teams. Georgia could be in trouble if they don't fix their run defense. And South Carolina always seem to struggle and have these weird games against non-conference competiton especially early in the season. They could be prime for an upset.

I also thought it was interesting that while most SEC teams are playing FBS teams their first week, Tennessee and Missouri are not.

nah bro kentucky should be an underdog

auburn will aburn too, but mississippi state can't into pass defense.

I forgot what Georgia's record against ranked teams is, but I'm sure it isn't very good.

MSU.

I've got a bad feeling that UG absolutely crushes Clemson. Something like 48-10...

Why is that a "bad" feeling for you?

I didn't know this thread was about upsets however, if it is, I'm going with Washington State over Auburn. I'm guessing WSU will be the underdog.

It's another game with a coaching factor. I think WSU will be much better in Mike Leach's 2nd year.

I'm amazed by the number of people overlooking that Arkansas matchup against what should be a damn fine ULL team...On paper, it's the best one that Hud has had down there yet -- by alot.

I think people are putting too much stock into what Clemson did against LSU in the bowl game. There are a 1000 reasons you could say why it happen, but 1 game doesn't make a team.

I do think UGA will lay the wood to Clemson. Just hope they don't focus too much of the off season on them and not the team they play the following week.

Well let's take a look:

2012 @Vandy W 17-13
2011 ECU (N) W 56-37
2010 Southern Miss W 41-13
2009 @NC State W 7-3
2008 NC State W 34-0
2007 UL-Lafayette W 28-14
2006 @Miss State W 15-0
2005 UCF W 24-15

Under Spurrier we've won every opening game by an average of almost 16 points. You'd have to go all the way back to 1999 to find our last opening game loss. But I guess perception really is reality, huh?

Contrary to popular belief, I don't think the Arkansas players or Coach Bielema will take any win for granted. I know I'm not. Having said that, ULL should be a really good team and will be ready to play. I just don't see it happening this year.

...but regardless, I still don't feel very comfortable about any of our games and for me, that's usually a good thing.

I'm not just talking about the opening game. They've had their struggles against mediocre non-conference competition.

2011

Needs a 4th quarter TD and monstrous game from Marcus Lattimore to beat Navy 24-21

2010

Only beats Furman 38-19, game was within two TDs in the fourth quarter

2009

Beats NC State 7-3
Beats Florida Atlantic 38-16 but only had a one point lead at the half

2008

Beats Wofford 23-13
Beats UAB 26-13

2007

Only beats Louisiana Lafayette 28-14
