Maravich is reason #1 that when people talk all time teams i think LSU could make a run.

Shaw-Pistol on the same court would be insane.

Freshmen were not allowed to play. Pete scored more points than any other player and did it in 3 years.

Courtesy of Dale Brown:

"It must be noted that Maravich did all the above without the aid of three-point baskets. According to Wikipedia, former basketball head coach of LSU, Dale Brown, noted every shot that Pistol Pete Maravich took in college basketball and calculated that Pete would have made an average of 13 three-point shots per game.

If he played under current regulations with the three-point arc set at 5.8 metres (19-foot 9 inches) from the rim, he would have averaged 57 points per game."

Jaeson had a good set shot, not great going to the goal. Josh was an above-average high school player. Decent shot but could attack the basket and play aggressive D. Josh was far more athletic... He played at LSU a few years, although only saw the court once that I can recall.

Michael Jordan was quoted once as saying that "if ESPN had existed back then, and Pete's highlights were available across the country, Pete would been a basketball god". But Pete went through some dark times in his life, booze related, so it would be interesting to see how ESPN handled that part of his life. That he completely turned his life around at the end would make for the perfect ending.
