That graphic is fine, but the main reason they were left out is because a player got injured which is bullshite and a bad precedent for CFB

Alabama FSU on a neutral field tomorrow, who's winning the game?

Neutral Field? Bama would beat FSU at Tallahassee or wherever else they played.

You sure about that? They barely beat a terrible Auburn team

How do they figure strength of schedule? It seems like every site has them ranked differently.

And FSU played two legit games out of conference and won both. Bama played one. So what else was FSU to do?

That is the ONE and ONLY reason given by the Chair of the Committe. College football is the ONLY TEAM SPORT where an undefeated TEAM is NOT allowed to COMPETE for their respective championship.

If I'm being honest, with even odds I'd put my money on Alabama, but FSU is a good enough team that they could easily win that game as well. Everyone thought Oregon was gonna roll Washington and the opposite happened.

Either way, that's all subjective and misses the point. It should be the 4 best resumes based on how you performed during the regular season, not a group of biased individuals with their own agendas deciding on who they think currently playing the best or isn't the most injured. Otherwise, what is the regular season for?

That was just the excuse used. FSU got left out b/c the committee was going to make sure the SEC had a team in there. If Georgia had won the SECCG, the rankings would be

#1 Georgia
#2 Michigan
#3 Washington
#4 FSU
#5 Texas

No one would be arguing for Texas b/c they lost a game to a lesser opponent. But to get an SEC team in, they had to give it to the SEC champ (Bama). And to put bama in, they had to put Texas in front of bama.

FSU got screwed and the 4 best teams got in. Both statements can be true

having a really strong SOS is great if you win all your games.

FSU did nothing wrong, Did everything right. Scheduled 2 SEC teams OOC and beat them.

this is 100% eyeball test for ratings.

So why don’t we just let the Vegas oddsmakers decide the college football playoff?

This is the problem. The word "best" is far more subjective than "deserving" and comes with a lot of side-effects that hurt CFB overall. Think teams are going to bother scheduling tough OOC opponents to start the season anymore? All that matters is what conference you're in and how you're playing at the end. Also incentivizes teams to sit stars for cupcake games and lie about injury reports.

FSU deserved to get in over both Alabama and Texas based on what happened on the field this year and it wasn't close.

I'm not convinced Texas is a top 4 team. I'd put money on Georgia if they were playing each other.
