Its in the guidlines that the committe use for consideration. An injury to a key player is part of the criteria.

It's both the criteria that was established and also this particular application of the criteria that is bullshite and has been since inception. This is just the first time that the committee has really been able to blatantly take advantage of this tool.

2 intentional decisions to allow for the committee to find the matchups that make them the most money, while being able to selectively ignore what happened in the actual games for whatever is convenient for them.

Which is why both Bama and Texas got in.

Bama struggled vs a team that lost to N. Mexico State. With their starting QB.

Yeah, and then they went out and beat the (at the time) number one team in the country and back to back NCs.

FSU played a 5-7 Florida team and then a Louisville team that lost to Kentucky and struggled to score against both. Not to mention that their offense was their strength and their defense was good enough. To take away the offense, takes away their ability to compete with the best teams in the country.

I'm not defending Bama getting in, I am defending the clear and obvious choice to omit FSU because they probably aren't even a top 15 team without their QB.

FSU just won the ACC championship, beat two SEC teams and won their last two without their starting QB.

The committee put Alabama in solely for ratings. Theres no justifying putting Alabama in front of a 13-0 team with a fantastic defense.

Its like some LSU fans are pathologically stricken by the Gumps.

No they don't. They have an above average defense that did enough to allow their really good offense to win games.

The real reason is "money" and "politics".
We now know who really runs the SEC as if we didn't already know.

Top 15.

Ahead of Alabama.

Florida State scheduled two SEC non conference games. Alabama scheduled one P5 team and three cupcakes, and lost their only non con to a team with a pulse.

They beat LSU by knocking Jayden out, they do not deserve anything.

Georgia/Washington on a neutral field tomorrows, who's winning the game?

What was Georgia's SOS vs Washington?

See how stupid this is. Heck compare Georgia to FSU yet FSU is ranked ahead of them.

That offense couldn't even score against Louisville. Yet their defense almost pulled a shutout and yes Louisville has a highly ranked offense.

I doubt the Gumps would score more than two TDs vs FSU.

You keep posting the strength of schedule, but ignoring that the strength of their schedule resulted in them LOSING.

Is the strength of schedule adjusted for losing starters ?

With the third string QB, who wouldnt be the starter going forward.

Who won? With a third string QB? Thats more impressive than anything Alabama has done all year.

Alabama had two TDs vs Auburn until the final play.

The team that held LSU and Daniels to 17 points before garbage time 80-yard TD?

Yeah okay

If you're going by SOS, shouldn't the Gumps be #1 instead of #4?

I guess we should just never actually play games because teams that are favored never lose. Oregon won this past weekend right? What about Georgia? Certainly bama beat Texas as a 7 point favorite earlier this year.
