Not to mention in the last several years Sierra Nevada, Oscar Blues, and New Belgium all opened there east coast operations in the area.
If you haven't already I strongly recommend tours of New Belgium and Oscar Blues, they've got some damn good beer not on shelves that you taste on the tour, come out of it feelin pretty good too

If you're drinking Bud Light the difference is negligible

there's a beer snob now.
You're the one calling craft beers "fruity". Craft beers are just beers made by a small brewery. They can be any style or flavor. There's absolutely nothing fruity about the vast majority of them. I actually LIKE beer, so I enjoy trying out different kinds. Plus, most of them have about 3X the ABV of a bud light. So, a couple can go a long way out by the grill.

I'm calling the fruity ones fruity, I'm calling the hoppy ones just bad-tasting. It's just that the fruity and hoppy beers seem to be talking over the market lately.
I've got friends that have been brewing their own beer for 25+ years. I know what craft brews are. I also don't feel the need to bust out a finely crafted beer after mowing the lawn - unless, of course, it's a St. Arnold.
Light American lagers have their place for me, as do porters, stouts and bocks (unless it's Shiner). Hell, malt liquor even has its place - don't let the smooth taste fool you, it works every time.
