That works if Disney/ESPN was flush with money and not going through another round of layoffs.

ACC teams gave away their media rights deal. All these moves only work when media rights deals expire. Conferences don't matter. If FSU plays in the SEC but doesn't bring their media rights, they are useless. And if you are ESPN/Disney and answer to shareholders, how do you justify paying more for the same team just because they changed conferences.

what i hope happens is Big 10 and SEC form their own division , and Clemson plays in another division with its own playoff.

As long as there is another playoff for the teams left out, it will be fun. the conference bragging by SEC and Big 10 is tedious.

The SEC-Big 10 divison would only be able to say they were the best team among those teams, not country.

The other playoff could be as popular. We could even do a 16 team or 32 team playoff so it engages fanbases around the country.

Ya'll act like it some kind of big deal to play those teams. Most of em have never won a title.

Let's say Clemson is in a lower division and beats Virginia Tech, Miami, Oklahoma State to win the title. It should be as entertaining as the SEC-Big 10 division.

If we put together an alternative that allows more access to current non P5 schools, it probably will get more views than your super division. lol People like rooting for the little guy.

there's a posssilbliy the lower division might start getting the best players because it's more entertaining.

Most of the ADs are stupid so this will probably never happen.

Reality is most programs can't win a title in a league with Alabama and Ohio State. Another league with big schools and small schools across the country would have more variablity.

Exactly ^^^^^^ this.

Even most B1G fans are saying exactly this.

I would say winning a title as a team in a division with 120 or so programs is more impressive than winning a title in a 40 team conference.

Fsu and Clemson going to the big 10 would not be good for the sec. We don’t need the big 10 with a recruiting back door to the southeast and Texas.

Clemson has men's soccer, rowing, lacrosse and most SEC schools don't. It's won 3 soccer titles.

SEC doesn't seem like a viable option across the board. Clemson in the Big 10 would be pretty weird and the longer travel times would probably hurt recruiting.

I'd like to see the original founding ACC teams stick together and maybe try to lure Maryland back. The conference has a lot of history.

If having FSU, Clemson, North Carolina or whoever now after what has occurred, then why was it not a priority last year? Because it was not then and not now. Let FSU, Clemson go back to obscurity. Adding Clemson or FSU does nothing . They already watch SEC games when not watching their teams play.

We will have our hands full with the addition of OU and Texas. When the next Sec contract comes up, it will make whatever the big ten has seem paltry as well as future contracts. The north is losing population. It’s moving south.

For those who don’t know, Texas has 30 million residents and projections over the next 50 years is for Texas to become the largest state by leaps and bounds. In fact, the entire southeast will swell with new SEC fans and eyeballs for advertisers.

IF... the SEC was lacking big games and matchups, FSU and Clemson might make sense. They are not. So these 2 schools do not add to the geographic footprint and so I don't see added value and therefor very unlikely they will be added. Look to the states of North Carolina and Virginia as that adds Raleigh/Durham and DC area. IF something happens. But the posted stating SEC and ACC are all under ESPN umbrella, it would add no value to them to swap teams around in the current footprint.

do you think people in all parts of the country watch a ton of SEC games? lol C'mon man

I don’t know. But it’s pretty clear that more people watch the SEC than your conference. I see why Cocks call y’all “Taters” - met some Clemson dipshits at a leadership conference and was cash impressed with how much of a fishbowl they live in. Keep in mind that you’re reading this from an Arkansas baw.

I know the SEC has said they are happy with the 16 team setup. Will the Big 10 adding Oregon and Washington put any pressure on the SEC to reconsider?

Reconsider what? The SEC can't just go out and pluck Clemson and FSU. They have to get out of their grant of rights. They are locked in a TV deal till 2036.

Yet you have an account on an SEC forum and are posting here on repeat.

Every game counts in the SEC that's the beauty of the league there's only one team SEC wants and that's Notre Dame

Hopefully the SEC reconsiders having Missouri in the league.

I don't think so. Texas and OU were really good adds in that they checked two key boxes:

Maintaining regionality
Adding new markets with elite programs

I don't see many more prospects in this regard. Personally, I'd like the SEC to stay regional. In that case, your best prospects are probably FSU, Clemson, UNC, and NC State. I think it'd be a bad move for the SEC to scramble for lower tier programs to make the league "national"
