And again, if Bama AU and LSU all finish with 8 wins or less like UF UGA and UT did last year you better believe many of their fans will be throwing around the "the west was down" line to the MS fans.

Just because yall are choosing to ignore the East/West balance on this doesn't mean everyone else is ignoring it when they say this in the first place. Seems pointless to cast that out of the debate but still hold people accountable for their original opinions that are likely based on data points such as that.

I like you. You were actually one of the first posters to welcome us (Mizzou) fans here because of your ties.

Im sorry you cant see the point in this thread.

Power shifts within the divisions. Mandatory "rival" games skews perceptions.

It's amazing that you got 4 pages so quickly touting a team that lost to Indiana. I actually like Mizzou, but... just sayin'.

When I talk about a division being up or down, I merely am discussing in relation to the other division.

That's just always what the question has meant to me, and I think a lot of others here on these boards.

If you guys all start shitting your pants OOC I may have to adjust my definition

ETA: I feel like yalls beef is with your East peers that you "passed" saying those things, because all the west fans need is the inter-divisional record to be in our favor to think that.

What does that have to do with the point of the thread?

You are comparing the end of last year to this year? How the frick does that make sense.

And Mizzou lost to Indiana and then went on to beat USCe. Let that sink in.

Everything? SC already has 3 losses and will lose to Auburn and probably Clemson. They won't be ranked. Mizzou likely will be, but there's no way they'll be top 5 after losing to Indiana. Indiana will as usual finish at or near the bottom of an awful B1G.

If he was touting anything it would be the 12-2 team that finished the season in the top 5.

East is down this year. Nobody would ever deny that.

I believe OPs point was the double standard displayed. If the East was down last year because Mizzou and USC were the two powers, then should the same be said about the west with the MS schools carrying the flag?

I do think the premise falls short though, because Auburn is still at the top and Bama and maybe aTm are still really good. The only thing the East had to offer outside of the top two last year was a dinged UGA and a decent Vandy squad.

I cant believe that the point is being lost this much.

I have nothing against any team nor am I trying to troll but the premise is fairly clear here.

If folks cant juxtapose this season and it its SECR opinions with last season, well, thats on them.

The point is valid.

I get your point, and it's valid but I still think it's a little off because there is more depth in the West.

Ole Miss and MSU are only where they are because they beat a down Bama and LSU.

Sound familiar?

Not sure why talent keeps being brought up with UGA, as talent is completely irrelevant when Richt is your coach.

You will always underachieve.

The fact that Mizzou could win the east, and lost to Indiana, says a whole lot about the east.
