SEC Network has been Underwhelming

Obviously the money is great...and they offer exposure to stuff (SEC Network Plus) we didn't have before which is great and I'm not complaining about...but the actual station itsself is pretty freaking awful.
What kind of wife-beating, sister-humping Dirtneck actually sits and WATCHES Finebaum for 4 hours or hell even 10 minutes.
I wish they'd show old games like CSS used to do...and not just football.
There is so much one could do with a 24/7 Sports station and all of it wouldn't be expensive but instead E!SPN tries to ruin sports and make everything about pop-culture and off-the-field stuff instead of just talking about sports and people sit there and take it and even watch it.
Nothing but sensationalism.

Upvote.
More classic games would be clutch.

I think it's been great for it's first year.

I'm pretty sure DMAC runs wild tonight on the SECN...I'll have to check.

If that's the only problem with the SECN, which it is, then I'd say it has been one hell of a first year.
I've gotten to watch a shitload of baseball, softball, and even the SEC track championship with good quality.
I agree about Finbaum. Making him the face of the netowrk is an insanely idiotic idea. But overall all the schools get amazing coverage and fat checks in the mail. I wouldn't call that "underwhelming".

The fans aren't getting paid that money. As a fan who is looking for substance, it's been incredibly underwhelming.

I'd rather watch an Ole Miss/Arkansas basketball game from 1996 than whatever GD Finebaum is blathering about, and I don't even really like Basketball.
I assume they own the rights to all that...why not show that instead?

Finebaum brings in more viewers and advertisers than classic games that only two fanbases care about.

Finebaum was the most glaring mistake, everything else has been pretty good

Paul sucks.
I'd really like to see hour or half hour shows about the schools in the SEC. Have each school produce the show and put it out there. We could really use those hours that Finebaum takes up.
That one show and its time footprint bother me the most because it is boring.

It's a bad reflection upon our conference that people actually WATCH...watch Finebaum. I understand if you drive a lot for work and listen on the radio or something...but to actually have it on your TV?

i am pretty sure they have cancelled the TV Portion of FB. Not sure when it starts though. There has to be live stuff in the PM of days like live VB, Soccer, baseball, softball, Tennis etc. I just see how the TV part of FB is a huge watch when most people who would hear him are listening on radio or doing radio live streaming etc.
I did not hear the date for the cancellation. I would feel safe to say it will be before the FB season starts.

Coach Crisp and nearly every other sidewalking Bama fan in Alerbama? What do I win?

I agree with this...I know Bo Mattingly in NWA has a webcast for his 3 hour radio show...I'm guessing other schools have "flagship" stations to cover their team.
Just rotate them out each week...it would be hilarious I think

I wish each team would do a weekly 30 minute show for sports. Ole Miss has "The Season" it awesome for fans and let's you get more connected to the athletes. Would be cool if each team had one and they showed them on SECN

We had the Sunshine network that gave us those types of shows. SEC network killed all that.

Baseball coverage has been awesome.
Yes it has. However it and other sports could be so much better with minimal effort.
Imagine if every afternoon in Feb-May they showed old classic SEC Baseball games? Most are at work but you could DVR. Would be shite out of Finebaum's low-brow trolling garbage that mainly only Dirtneck, mouthbreathing Alabama and Auburn fans get worked up about.
