They just put that up there because if they didn't a bunch of Arkansas fans would call NCAA Hq to cry about it. It's purely political and not based in reality.

Do they really believe the NCAA recognizes national champions in the FBS division?

Most serious fans count the number of times a team has beat another team, no matter what is determined later.

No, they don't recognize national champions, but they do recognize the selections by others. That's what that page is about and why it doesn't include every selector that's ever awarded a national champion.

Lots of trolling here, but the simple fact is Alabama won the '64 championship the same as the won the 2015 championship (which I'm sure your children will claim 20 years from now). Ranked at the top at the end if the regular season, but didn't win when it counted. Nobody recognizes bama as the champion that year except for bama, and apparently draconian sanctions.

They don't recognize selections by anyone concerning NC's. That is simply a webpage on their site.
It provides information and in no way implies that the NCAA recognizes either NC's or those who are the selectors.
