With all the Ole Miss fans in here you would think he asked a question about Oxford...

He asked about Starkville. And as someone who has visited Starkville, I wouldn't wish that road trip on my worst enemy, or in my case, LSU fans. Because, you know, they are our true rival.

The whole armpit of the South thing is really getting old. Starkville doesn't claim to be the BEST college town in America unlike another school.

It makes for a good road trip around some great SEC fans who love their football. There are great restaurants and local bars like just about every other college town. Great place to tailgate that you don't have to bring a damn chandelier. Just bring your Yeti and grill and you'll fit right in.

Does Starkville have room for improvement? Hell yes. But we've come a LONG way in the past few years. Biggest issue will be finding a place to stay, but a quick drive to Columbus can fix that.

OP hope you have a blast come this fall. The Auburn faithful are usually a classy bunch.

Although y'all's fans are naturally hostile towards us, I've always had fun in Starkvegas.

It's a relaxed atmosphere and most State fans will give you a free drink or two if you ring their cowbell. Also, I've had some excellent Egg Bowl cornhole matches at the Junction.

one of the best =/= best

Your RC skills must really fricking suck. Plus isn't that his job, to pump sunshine up our arse?

For clarification purposes, Starkville as a whole (i.e. State fans) will not claim it's the best.

Only because you really can't. MSU fans claiming Starkville as the best college town is on par with MSU fans claiming to have the most storied program in the SEC. Just can't be said.

We've sold out every home game in the past 5 years, this will be the first big game post-expansion, tickets won't be that easy to come by.
Oh, come on, everyone knows that those "sellouts" in Starkville aren't legit. I bought tickets to the A&M game in 2012 in the West upper deck about 10 days before the game and could have easily found a place to stretch out and lay down up there had I been so inclined. That's not to denigrate State's fan support--they draw quite well for their location and results. With a few thousand more seats available this year, I can't imagine that scarcity is going to be an issue unless the visiting team is bringing a whole lot of fans.

Only 19 more consecutive wins to take the lead.

THEY WERE SELLOUTS!!!!!!!!!!!

In all reality, MSU probably didn't sellout a single game. The athletic department probably just purchased the leftover tickets with fake money.

Definition of a sell out - the selling of an entire stock of something, especially tickets for an entertainment or sports event.

Why on earth would anyone want to voluntarily go to Starkvegas?

I plan to hit all 14 SEC stadiums over the next few years...haven't been there, so I am going.

I also have a buddy who is a State graduate and he has been trying to get me to come to a game there for the last few years.

I met some MSU fans who came to the Box for our baseball series this spring and for the first time I've wanted to go to Starkville. They were cool peoples and I'd like to meet more of those folks.
