770 wins for LSU since the year 2000. Pretty impressive.

The milennium did not start until 2001. You're probably under 700.

So your wins post 2000 would have an even greater discrepancy than before.

Which is remarkable when you consider Alabama was 53-46 from 2000-2007.

Since then we are an incredible 98-12.

So you agree that an even greater percentage of your all time wins came after 2000? I'm still trying to figure out what point you think you're trying to make

Somehow a lot of people believe that Bama is immune to ever being shite in the future just because they have Saban right now. Sure, I'm willing to accept they'll probably win 11+ every year till he leaves Bama, but after that, they're susceptible to having years where their team sucks, just like everyone else is. College. Football. Is. Cyclical. All it takes is a bad hire, an unlucky game, NCAA sanctions, or who the hell knows what else, and anyone can become a team that struggles to make bowl games in the span of a year or two. shite happens sometimes. So if they do by chance have a lengthy down stretch at some point post Saban, it's possible that other teams could catch up, although it would likely take a while.

(Go ahead bammers, rain your downvotes on me and respond with some pretentious "well we're invincible cuz we're Bama" bullshite. I'm just pointing out that college football is cyclical. Hell, Ole Miss may even win 10 games or the SEC west a few hundred years from now.)

No. Because when you give back Alabama's full allotment of 893 all-time wins, and factor in that Alabama has won 151 of those games since 2000, you come up with a percentage of 16.9%.

When you bring back those vacations and forfeitures, and go back to the "official" number of 864, Alabama has only 130 victories since 2000. Which puts that percentage at a mere 15%.

Either way...it's still a smaller percentage than LSU's, which makes sense because Alabama's is a historically better program. 21% since 2000 is a very significant number. It's almost 1/4 of your total number of victories.

But it makes sense because both teams play more games now. At the turn of the century FBS teams were playing 11-game schedules. Now we are playing 12-game schedules and almost everyone goes to a bowl these days. So count on at least 13 games per season. More games makes it easier for good teams to rack up more victories.

Anyone who believes that is obviously not old enough to remember the period between 1997-2007. Hiring Mike DuBose set our program back a decade. That's why we can't afford to hire an assistant with the team once Saban leaves. We need to go after a proven head coach with a track record of consistent success.

It is paramount that Alabama does not repeat the mistakes made after Gene Stallings retired.

I'm sure others have already brought it up but Alabama lost like 29 wins to NCAA stuff over the years and despite that is still up 40+ overall in official wins.

With the 29 lost wins Alabama would likely be moving into #2 in the all time wins list here in the next few seasons.

I think that's the last time the NCAA forfeited instead of vacating.

Yea. The Big Ten teams are....

Michigan: 925
Nebraska: 880
Ohio State: 875
Penn State: 856

The closest team to 700 wins below those four is Michigan State, at 681 wins. Followed by Minnesota(674), Wisconsin(673), and Rutgers(645).

You could also say that the Big10 has 4 in the 800 club and the SEC only has 2.

I don't think any Alabama fan over the age of 12 believes that.
