Why didn't A&M allow women to attend?

I've already disproved the 'military school' excuse.

Not worth much with where this discussion is headed. All roads lead to "Aggy is gay"

The question is why didn't A&M allow women?

You're using the military school 'angle' to explain why there were no women, which in turn you use to 'explain' why enrollment was so low.

LSU has been a military institution longer than A&M, yet didn't seem to suffer from the same 'problems' as our Texas neighbors.

But to answer your question, 1906 was the first year women enrolled as freshmen at LSU, the same year the law school opened.

ETA: Two years later LSU won the national championship in football.

Similarly all aggie roads seem to lead to, "But, but, but Corps of Cadets!!!1!"

What problems did we have? We decided to shift the identity and mission of the school. You would have to ask the administrators from pre 1960 why we didn't allow women as I was born many years after the change was made and never had the opportunity to discuss the matter with them

Hey, I'm just trying to answer the question:
quote:

What [aggie] problems?

...without just saying, "tGhey".

But now after 12 pages, I'm sorry to inform you that they all have something to do with tGhey - even the lack of football success. Those too always seem to come around to the same basic aggie problem.

But one other thing I learned in my research of aggie problems, A&M never actually prohibited women from enrolling, women were just never inclined to enroll at A&M for some reason...

That is true. Also, the work experience at the University of Mississippi Medical Center went a long ways in helping me obtain the job that became my career. Ole Miss just did not have my major.

I was able to do TAMU.

22% of Texans are TAMU fans

There are 19,307,180 adults in Texas

So 4,247,579 of Texans are TAMU fans

TAMU has 370,000 living alumni. Can't find exact number that are from Texas but lets be generous and say 75% which is 277,500

So approximately 7% of TAMUs fan base are alumni.

Caveat: The poll did not mention if the TAMU fans included those people that said they were a fan of both TAMU and another school. In the Alabama poll I only included those people that said they were a fan of one school.

It's just that I've seen these 'numbers' in relation to A&M's poor historical showing in football for so long, it just seems to follow naturally.

Um, all of our national titles are from that period. We don't run from that time, we hang it on the stadium.

Good math. I would argue that we are at a T-Shirt peak because of JFF (I bet that number in the 00's was single digits), but good math based on data.

By Big 12 math yes. When we came to the SEC we recounted using Bama math and now we have three.
