What about that survey that has floated around on here before. Didn't say Clemson had more fans in that?

We were an all-male military academy of ~2500 students until 1970. Congrats on the 80 years of domination during the leather-helmet era.

The series in the modern era favors A&M.

Best way to look at this is on a scale of 1-10.

- UVA and UNC would be a 10
- UNC and Va Tech would be a 9
- UNC and Duke would be a 8
- Va Tech and UVa would be a 7
- UNC and NCSU would be a 6
- Va Tech and NCSU would be a 5
- NCSU and Ga Tech would be a 4
- Clemson and FSU would be a 3
- FSU and Ga Tech would be a 2
- Clemson and Ga TEch would be a 1

SEC will expand by adding new states / new TV sets. Dumb way to measure the value of your tv contract but that is the system in place. It is the only way you can measure it.

Texas and OU aint happening.

Sure it does.

Agreed. People keep bringing them up when some of us would rather forget about them.

Tell me why you'd rather have fricking Virginia and North Carolina (in an athletic conference) than FSU and Clemson?

UVA and UNC are both the state universities,
Their states have alot of TV sets. that equals more $$$.

Then you throw in the academic side of those two schools.

Both are top targets.

Are you an SEC executive? What do you care? Don't you just want to see good football?

I want UVA and then either UNC or NCSU.
I would fine with Duke and UNC too. NO VT

Some of us don't want new in-state teams leeching recruits from us, causing us to put a worse product on the field.

I want good football, sure.

But I also know that the expansion is not worth it unless you add new markets. Why invite more people to eat pizza when the pizza is not getting bigger?

I want my school(Alabama ) to keep adding to their profits and to increase its growing academic prestige. Apparently having UNC and UVA could help that- according to most that are actually making these decisions.

I also think that UNC and UVA football would benefit from being in the premier football conference. See ATM. They would get better. They also have very legit non-revenue sports. As an SEC fan, I want to dominate everything.

The guy I was talking to is a Bama fan. Too late for that.

And I've already seen a UF fan say FSU

Profit margin, yes. But I think it's complete bullshite to think our academics will improve because we are adding two of the better public schools to an athletic conference. They will improve the way they have been over the last decade or so: decision and emphasis on doing so by the administration.

Horsecrap. That's totally coincidental. And how can you cite aTm, but ignore Mizzou?

They don't remember the before times. The long long ago. I never, ever want to go back to being in the same conference with ou/tu

Good point on ATM and MIzzou. But I believe both of those schools are in a better position to compete than before.

Mizzou is probably a coach away from getting their act together.

To think that Academics dont play a factor in this is really short sighted. It is a big factor because, to the people that are making these decision(University Presidents), it is all they care about. You better believe Bama, Auburn, LSU etc. etc. will want UNC and UVA in the conference over lesser schools(academically) because of the research partnerships that can develop. This is what happens in the BIG 10 and Pac-12.

The biggest negative in the SEC is Academics. I want to eliminate that negative.

Texas and Florida are much, much larger states with much more talent than the state of Alabama.

Yet, the University of Alabama shares its relatively small state with another big time SEC football program.

And despite that, Alabama has won 3 out of the last 4 national championships.

So quit being a pussy.
