Big Ten East is strong this year and is only going to get stronger with Harbaugh at Michigan. I'd probably give the overall nod to Pac 12 South for second place
Big Ten East
Indiana
Maryland
Michigan
Michigan State
Ohio State
Penn State
Rutgers

Colorado took a lot of good teams to the wire and they will be improved.

Until the East does something, it's really a moot point.
You realize that those players and most coaches aren't here anymore, right?
But your point is well taken. Reputation, respect, and perception are earned. Trust me, UGA fans understand this all to well!

Gator, I agree. That is pretty stout. Especially with the way MSU is playing these days. In 2-3 years when UM and PSU are back that will be a brutal conference/ division....please hurry. tOSU needs a real schedule.

I do but posters here really don't have a beat on the PAC - 12. ASU is my favorite for the whole league. ASU has a legit shot at the playoffs. A lot of prognosticators think it's a UCLA/USC battle but ASU is the complete team.

True- we don't get any Pac12 coverage down here. And your commissioner shite the bed during the initial football shakeup and missed getting repeated bowl games vs. SEC opponents....which we all want.
Forget the year, but conventional wisdom was USC and UGA were the two best teams in the country- but locked out of the BCS. Instead of a USC/ UGA Rose Bowl, the dam PAC12/ Big10 put Illinois in there. We got Hawaii in the Sugar. Result- combined beatdowns of about 110-15. Total sidebar rant, but goes with the "Pac12 is missing the boat" point I made above.

Washington L 23-38 3:11
Arizona L 20-38 3:24
Oregon L 10-44
Utah L 34-38
They lost to CAL, Oregon St., UCLA and UTAH by a combined 15 points. MacIntyre is a good coach and they have improved every year under him.
They are a team that will put points on a lot of people.

No doubt that MacIntyre is a good coach from me. During the coaching search at UK, he was one of the guys I thought would have a real chance of turning UK around based on his time at SJSU.
This year's Kentucky team would still beat this year's Colorado by 4 TDs. UK's biggest weakness was (and probably will still be) against teams that force(d) them to play a heavy box to try and slow down the run, exposing vulnerable CBs.
Colorado is (and will be) terrible at running the football after losing two starters off of an already terrible line.

You know we've also beaten both of those teams under Richt too right?
Your post is completely irrelevant to how things are in 2015 which is what OP is talking about.

Colorado has one of the best WR corps in the PAC with a returning qb that was solid. They also have the best WR in the entire conference.
They would put points on you and stay within 4 tds. I would bet on that all day long.

The point is you can look at the PAC 12 vs SEC east matchups and say on paper they favor you...
but reality is different.

You don't know reality is different. The east could go undefeated or go winless...there's simply no way of knowing.
I just thought it was silly that you used games from 5 years ago to try to prove your point.

How about Indiana vs Mizzou, UT vs OU, UGA vs Clemson/GA Tech, Florida vs FSU, etc.?
I thought it was funny that someone posted the potential matchups, looked at it and assumed that it favored the EAST.
The SEC east's OOC record vs marquee opponents is in the trash right now going back 5 years.

Well for starters, it's funny that this thread is even a question since the east has been meh for a bit and has an unbelievable amount of questions marks right now with every team. So, don't think that I'm backing OP and saying the east is badass, because right now, we're not.
that was an embarrassment. MU was clearly the better OVERALL team that season, but they obviously lost the head to head matchup. Things happen.
UT is in the worst period in school history. Waht does them losing to a clearly better team prove?
UGA went 1-1 agianst those teams last year, and has combined to go 106-58 against them all time. UGA absolutely owns both teams.
See UT above.
waht about them? All you've done is pick and choose teams that lost to (in some cases) clearly better teams. Teams from 3 different conferences at that

we played the "2nd best" teams from other conferences and all won our bowl games.. so yea.. it is the 2nd best CFDiv.
question answered and your welcome.

Which ACC Division is better than the East?
Atlantic or Coastal?
Atlantic or Coastal?
Posted on 7/24/15 at 1:10 pm to RiverDawg
An argument could be made for the Atlantic: Florida State, Clemson, Louisville, Boston College, NC State, Syracuse, Wake Forest. Last year they were better than the SEC East, probably. I wouldn't say that's going to be a recurring trend
