55-20 boss says your DL sucks. go look at our rushing yards on you. We were to the second level before your DL was out of their 3 point stance...

one leo lewis type player at linebacker would have been the difference in our run defense like night and day...you know everything about our program, surely you know where our weakness was.

. Ed Oliver and Christian Wilkins are both much better than Simmons at this point. And those 2 were without even thinking much about great DTs.

Somewhat agree, although I look for Simmons to be more of a force this year. Our D-line could be very very good by mid season. We are also very deep.

And every SEC team has multiple 6'5 300 pound guys. it is all about technique and leverage at this level

Alabama, Florida, LSU and Georgia was in the top 15 in total defense last year with those multiple 6'5 300 pound guys. Technique isn't an issue here.

uhhh

LSU runs a 3-4

There's still an OLB or two (Key and Thompson) to worry about and two extremely athletic ILBs in White and Alexander in the middle. LSU's front 7 is freakishly athletic.

LSU's D-line is perhaps the most veteran part of the team, and it should help the youthful secondary by hopefully stuffing some runs and putting some pressure on QB's.

so you got a bunch of old slow fat veterans. makes sense. They need to get on the Ed Orgeron Diet.

then why is bama's rated so highly? payne is the only dlineman that has done much of anything during his time at the capstone.

Hopefully you play that QB who got benched against us again, he was effective.

2 field goals and 0 touchdowns in 10 drives

Tennessee's D-Line average size is heavily (pun intended) on the viability of Tuttle (6'2, 311) and McKenzie (6'3, 325). The other two tackles in the 2-deep are significantly smaller with Picou (6'1, 277) and Vickers (6'3, 295).

Depending on the rotation, you could have an average front four as big as 6'4, 290, or as small as 6'3, 262 all in at the same time. I am interested to see how much they are able to run with Kongbo (6'6, 265) and Phillips (6'4, 260) at DE with Tuttle and McKenzie.

It's almost like the media etc. pay attention to recruiting rankings and also pretty much just pencil our group in as elite because well, they have been every year in recent memory. Everyone knows who will field the best defense in the SEC. It's been that way for years slick.

Both coming off of surgery. Tuttle was lost for the season in October against South Carolina (Knee) and McKenzie was lost for the year in October against Alabama (Arm). Neither were able to participate in the Spring game. Tuttle just recently was able to start running...McKenzie is expected to be near full strength by the start of Fall camp.

I emphasized on height is because tall Dlinemen creates problems for the QB. Clemson's Dexter Lawrence and Christian Wilkins was swatting passes like flies.
