I think a Georgia Dome Super Dome Edward Jones Dome Reliant Stadium rotation would be cool.

I would be embarrassed as a former St. Louisan to have the SEC CG in the Edward Jones Dome. Place is a concrete jungle.

Baseball needs to move around (Frisco, Memphis, Pensacola, New Orleans, Jackson, Gwinnett, etc).

I would take Frisco and Pensacola out. And I thought the stadium in Jackson(or Pearl) was a little too small? Memphis would be a good permanent location as well.

Atlanta is the best place for this game. I hope the game is forever played there.

Have you seen Pensacola's stadium?

I said Frisco and Pensacola due to the fact they are such outliers. Think it would really hurt attendance. IMO
Out of the schools that really care about baseball, USC is the only close, and guess LSU would be similar distance. I think Memphis would be the best place for baseball. Though LSU fans could likely provide a good attendance in Metairie. And Ole Miss always travels to New Orleans well.

The SEC Championship is Atlanta's event. They built it, promoted it and made it what it is today.

Nobody really questions this. The Dome is the best available venue now, and Atlanta is about trump itself in replacing it.

Ole Miss will still be trying to figure out how to get to Atlanta in 2026.

Your huge Texas ego won't let you wrap your head around the fact that not everything revolves around your state.

And your envy of the Lone Star State needs to realize that we have a lot to offer. Frisco is what? 20 miles from an international airport? DFW and Houston are bigger than Atlanta. The SEC with A&M and the state of Texas is a different animal.

But your large football stadium is not in the middle of the city it is in the middle of parking lots off of an interstate between the two cities.

If it was truly about playing in the best stadium, why not go to Jerry's World every year. The fact that all the Championship games do not rotate is idiotic. Seem very reasonable to have each school "host" the game, rotating from state to state each year. Spreads revenue dollars around to each schools city areas. There is no reason to be scared of the ACC taking over in football. Georgia Tech is IN Atlanta already.

This and good (and completely expected) news. Atlanta is the best spot for the event. Over 20 years of success, driving distance for most of the schools, a great tie-in with the new CFB HOF, and a new stadium on the way. "Getting to Atlanta" has become another way of saying make it to the SECCG.

It is a little out of the way for A&M and Mizzou, but there isn't a better option. I still haven't been (the last three times Auburn made it I saved my $$ for the bowl game), but I'm going to try to go next time they are there.

The ACC would love to be there, but the SECCG is a far bigger/better event. Glad the ACC seems to have found a sensible home in Charlotte though.

For one, the best stadium is about to be in Atlanta in 2 years. In the middle of a city. With museums (like the CFB HOF) and a park and tons of hotels and a subway system surrounding it.

So, that is why.

Yeah, I don't think it should move.

Staying in ATL keeps the ACC from getting a foothold there.

This is a huge part of it. If the SEC left Atlanta the ACC would move in with the quickness.

I was reading somewhere recently that Georgia Tech was thinking about leaving the SEC and joining up with the ACC.

Anyone else hear that?

I've only flown through Memphis, but, from what I've seen, it's got the potential to the best baseball setup. While some people think the best baseball venue involves a park surrounded by acres of surface parking for their RVs, I prefer a park within walking distance of hotels and restaurants.

As for football, some of you folks are geographically challenged if you think Atlanta is central to the SEC. The reason it is the default football championship location is that the SEC champion has historically been sent to New Orleans for its bowl game, thus ruling out New Orleans as a championship game location. If you view Atlanta for the SECCG as the flip side of New Orleans as the bowl destination for the SEC champ, then you've got geographic balance.

With the changes in the playoff, I'm not sure that New Orleans should be off the table, and would like to see how things are going to shake out, rather than signing a long-term deal with Atlanta. But, in the big picture, 10 years isn't that long. As long as an SEC team is playing in the Sugar Bowl every year (or damn near every year), Atlanta for the championship game is fine.

What does that have to do with hosting the baseball tournament in Frisco?
