It is going to carry over to the playoff system. Why do you think the other conferences were so high on a playoff? It will end up being a way to limit the SEC's participation. Three teams from from the Big 12/PAC 12/Big 10/ACC/ and one from the SEC. The only way to combat it is to eliminate the SEC chapionship game and the divisions.

So if Bama hadn't beaten ND's arse so badly, it would be ok? Sorry for being good?

How did Auburn not leap over OSU?

Ohio State is a blue blood, and in a major conference. They are undefeated, and will always receive the benefit of the doubt.

Much like in 2011, if Alabama was not a blue blood, or if Oklahoma State was, 21-0 would not have happened.

I've always said if you win all your games, you should have a right to play.

If you drop a game or two, you may get in, but you're lucky if you do and all bets are off.

Only undefeated teams DESERVE a shot.

I said this in 2004 when Auburn got screwed (the ONLY team to ever get screwed in the BCS era). I said it in 2009 when Bama went undefeated. I said it in 2011 and 2012 when Bama lost. And I'm saying it now.

If there was a playoff this year, I have a feeling Ok St would jump Bama to get in -- because it would be the equitable thing to do.

Allowing 603 yards, 31 first downs, and 451 yards passing to a 7-5 Michigan team is unacceptable. Being tied 24-24 with a mediocre Iowa team at home in the 4th qtr is not impressive. Barely beating a Northwestern team that finished 5-7 is not impressive.

Wisconsin also dominated them in the 2nd half, but yes, Ohio St. won that game.

Point is, Ohio St.'s best three wins are against 9-3 Wisconsin, 8-4 Iowa, and 7-5 Michigan. That's a pitiful resume.

FSU also has a horrible schedule but they have crushed every team they've played, and haven't trailed 5-7 teams with 5 minutes to go in the game.

Not ALL undefeated teams deserve a shot at the Nat'l Championship. That is just silly talk. (no matter how many times you say it)

A 4 Team Playoff is MUCH better than the current system. However, and 8 Team Playoff would be WAY better than just a 4 Team Playoff.

If they did the 8 Team, they could do the 5 Conf Champs (SEC, ACC, Big10ish, Big12, and PAC12,) plus 3 At Large teams who finished the season in the Top of the Rankings.

Big 12 sucks. Not a BCS schedule.

If there was an 8-team playoff, the SEC should have TWO automatic bids and still be allowed a possible 3rd at-large. It won't happen, but that's how it should be.

There will either have to be a rule that you need to wing your conference or the Sec will have to get rid of the championship game

Absolutely.

Most would think when 1 plays 2 that the game should at least be competitive.
Some people will never not rank an undefeated team lower than a 1 loss team regardless of the circumstances. QB out; terrible call, Road loss under terrible field conditions etc.

I just dont understand that kind of rationale.
Lets not look at previous history or strength of schedule, lets only consider if they won all their games or not. And only if its a BCS conference at that.

there's pretty much no scenario where an undefeated or one loss SEC champ is left out of a four team playoff.

the OP suffers from myopia. The SEC representative only has to win two games to win a national championship in a four team playoff. This year Auburn and Missouri are very nice teams but IMO they are not as good as FSU and probably not as good as tOSU.
