Last season South Carolina ended their league leading consecutive appearances streak.

This season, Arkansas takes that prize. This will be the first season since 2001 that the Razorbacks have not been a part of an NCAA Regional.

From 2002-2015(14 consecutive)Arkansas baseball...

Appeared in 14 Regionals
Appeared in 6 Super Regionals
Appeared in 4 College World Series
Record: 585-367
Season Record Average: 42-26

All streaks must come to an end...

Yea, it sucks. I guess as a fan, you should expect a season to come like this. It has just been so long. It is weird.

Only the 4th time since 1995 Arkansas will not be an NCAA Regional team.

None of the projections have Arkansas making the field of 64? What's your current record?

Last season was pretty depressing as a huge Gamecock baseball fan. I couldn't believe the fall to rockbottom.

Arkansas is currently on its longest losing streak since the 1950's

There is absolutely no way Arkansas makes an NCAA regional and likely will not make the SEC tourney.

Very odd season, considering this team went to the Houston College Classic and swept Big 12 Champ Texas Tech, Houston, and Rice. Winning those three games by a very large margin(27-11) and then being 15-3 prior to SEC play starting. Since being 15-3, Arkansas is 11-23

Wow, I had no idea things were that bad. Arkansas is one of those programs, like South Carolina, that you just assume is always going to be in play for the postseason... but last year (for us) and this year (for ya'll) is proving different. Arkansas is a great program, I'm sure ya'll will rebound next season!

Yeah it's strange how you guys did so poorly in conference play. I expected you to be at the top of the conference.

Who will have the longest streak now? I would guess UF, but it could be Vandy as well.

Condolences -- that was still a good run though.

What happened this season? I didn't think ya'll would be at the top, but also not this bad. A few weeks ago you looked like you were turning it around.

Do you think there is any fight left for the last series of the season?

It wasn't one thing, it was everything. Just one of those seasons where the hitting (good to start with) faltered and the pitching wasn't there. If I had to point to one thing I'd say we relied too heavily on some players that are doing quite well in the MLB system right now.

It was a great run though, a shame its finished but hopefully this will light a fire under our coaches to start a new one.

So who has the longest one now? A&M will make it #10 this year.

Yeah I know it sucks, but it'll happen sometimes. LSU has had to deal with that too a couple a seasons recently. It will be weird to have Arkansas not in the post season unless something miraculous happens.

I think Vandy is one year ahead of A&M.

Florida - 9
Ole Miss - 6
LSU - 5
UK - 3
MSU - 1

Do you expect any coaching changes? or can this be written off as "one of those seasons", particularly with how strong the overall SEC is this year.

They would be dumb to ditch Van Horn.

We will keep Van Horn, but we might change an assistant or two. Even if we don't it might be the case of a very comfortable coaching staff finding that they aren't as comfortable as usual.

And... well... sometimes you need that. Coaches, like any other managerial staff, can get too comfy for their own good.

Arkansas will be back, fairly soon I'd wager, just like State is never really down and out in baseball thanks to their rich heritage. Or USCe for that matter.

Sometimes you need to hit rock bottom to bounce back up.
