I'd probably have Rolando McClain over both of them, but that's just me.

No Dee Milliner? Seriously?

QB -- Tim Tebow, Florida: A tough call at quarterback, but Tebow had a hand in two national championships, won the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and accounted for more touchdowns (145) than anybody in league history.
I understand this is ESPN's reasoning. But if you are talking about picking the QB with the most wins and best resume, You have to go with McCarron.

I'd have Dee and Lito Sheppard on a list somewhere down the line. So many good corners come out of this league.
Ahmad Carrol was really good at Arkansas.

Vastly overrated.
Our fans used to call him Burntman.

Yea, but some of that has to do with the team you play on.
Look at the numbers and points that Manziel put up this year. It didn't matter because his defense couldn't stop anyone.

I agree.
By using ESPN's reasoning they disqualify their own pick. I would put good money on Tebow not being 1st if he had not just signed with ESPN.

People are missing the fact they are picking people based purely on their college career.
Tebow had one of the greatest collegiate careers of all time.

Exactly, Newton is the better football player, but his "career" was a grand total of 14 games.

I would take Tebow as QB leading the team after an early Mississippi loss (or close win if we need a perfect season).

Honestly I really like this list.
Also, to my fellow LSU fans: Honey Badger isn't on the list for the same reason Cam Newton isn't on the list. They both had short careers. Sure, Mathieu played as a freshman and played well, but he wasn't a bonified star until his sophomore season.
That said, if we are basing it off of one season, give me Newton and Mathieu all day.

I'd put Corey Webster in the conversation (at least as a backup). The dude led the SEC as a sophomore in interceptions with 7 in his first year playing defense after being a receiver as a freshman.
He had another 7 ints. in his junior year where he finished 2nd in the SEC (and also 2nd in the SEC in pass break-ups). He was huge in every big game that year. He had a monster game and was national defensive player of the week in the first huge game against a great UGA team that year. He picked off Eli in our biggest road game to win the West and got an interception and had a great game in the win over OU in the BCS National Championship Game.
He got hurt and stayed hurt most of his senior year, but still picked a few more passes to put him at #2 all-time for LSU. He was a three-time first team All SEC pick and two-time first team All American. He was a two-time Thorpe Award finalist as well. He was legit.

Any Defense that doesn't have Patrick Willis on it is just wrong. I don't care if you plan a 3-4 or 4-3, he is literally the best LB to come out of the SEC in the last 20 years.
eta: Opps, just saw this was 2nd team. My reading comp sucks. Carry on.

Mark Barron seems an odd pick.
LaRon was epic in college, Tyrann was insane as well not to be on this lis, but i am not sure safety is the best place.
Mark Ingram is eh too.

Dre Kirpatrick was an absolute stud and Javier Arenas was as well. Not sure where they land, but they should be in the conversation.

King Dunlap on third team.
Dude, could barely hold a starting job at Auburn.
Greg Robinson and Lee Ziemba were better than him.
