id be surprised to see Newton in the top 5, not because he doesn't deserve it but just because he only did it for one year..

Tebow, Peyton, Wuerffel, Namath, Spurrier would be my Top 5 in order without Cam.

Did you look at the stats?

Screw the stats.....the Snake has a Super Bowl ring and was a highly successful NFL QB.

Alabama still has Joe Namath, Jay barker,Greg McElroy, and AJ. All won NCs

Namath is a lock. And AJ will most likely make it. Barker could since he was a Heisman finalist.

Bama leads the way with old alcoholic QBs for sure.

I literally stopped reading after Shaw at 25.

As opposed to figuratively stopping reading?

There will probably be three Mannings in the top ten. I was hoping CFB HoF and NFL Champion QB Charlie Conerly would make it, but I doubt it.

Tebow, Peyton, Wuerffel, Namath, Spurrier

Good guess to the top five.

Pretty much impossible to put them in order though.

If I had to I'd probably switch Wuerffel and Namath and keep the rest the same.

Auburn should have three. Sullivan, Cam, and Jason Campbell. If Shaw and Shane Matthews are on there, Jason deserves recognition also.

*side note.......did anybody else hear Andre Ware talking about Jason during the Spring game?*

I'm assuming the top 5 are Manning, Manning, Tebow, Newton, and Manziel. It'll be interesting to see the order.

I guarantee you Wuerffel is in the top 5, in fact there is a good chance Wuerffel and Tebow are #1 and #2 in some order.

Shouldn't this list be ranked according to the success of NFL careers instead of SEC play? Seems like that holds bigger magnitude and tells more about the "player."

Wuerffel better be #1.

Top 10 certainly, but not top 5.

1. Namath
2. Newton
3. Trammel
4. Tebow
5. Peyton
6. Belue (You had to be on the sidelines or in the stands.)
7. Sullivan (Know this is going to bring howls from Gumps, but he was a player.
8. Wuerffel
9. Manziel
10.Archie Manning.

Why? It is a ranking of top SEC QB's, it should be a measurement of their success while SEC QB's.

Leak over Grossman destroys the credibility of this list. Grossman is among the top two or three best pure passing QBs to ever play in the SEC. Leak was a mediocre QB and a very good game manager at best.

There is no way he will be out of the top 5. What did Peyton do in college that would put him in over a guy who had better stats, 4 SEC titles, a national championship and a Heisman?
