This might be a good opportunity to kick Miss schools out and bring in Oklahoma and Oklahoma St footprint to the SEC.

That's a bold as hell statement right there

So Sankey allowed rampant cheating for a decade to go unpenalized, but now he threatens to punish both schools over something they have absolutely no control over?

Frick him and the horse he rode in on.

He can't retire/quit/be fired fast enough. Shouldn't he be more concerned over his role in allowing hundreds of children to be sexually assaulted?

Well damn, now I don't see Gulfport/Biloxi hosting the Conference basketball tournament.

It sounds like Sankey is predicting trouble for the Mississippi schools with scheduling because other schools won't come to play them with these laws in place. He didn't threaten punishment.

I'm a BIG gun rights advocate, but I'm not sure that I buy the idea of being able to carry in courthouses.

While I agree in principle about Mississippi's gun law, I do think that guns should not be allowed in the stadiums.

Let me just put it this way, in the SEC "It just means more", and arming fans in the stands would definitely demonstrate that........

I agree. I think he is saying that he thinks schools from outside the conference (especially from the northeast and west coast) will be hesitant/refuse to come play. Aren't some of the California teams "banned" from playing in certain states due to adoption laws that aren't "LGBT friendly"?

I agree. I just think Sankey should quietly address this behind closed doors until/unless he receives resistance instead of going around loudly making thinly veiled threats.

The fact that we even have to debate this is ridiculous. MS will forever remain #50

Sankey made the same stupid arguments when Arkansas was toying with allowing CC in stadiums here.

I guess you missed the part where it was already debated, and is currently being debated, in other states.

Unless there is another quote, "decline opportunities" to me sounds like he's referring to OOC opponents. I don't think in conference you think of it as an opportunity that you accept or decline as much... it's a little bit semantic based on a one line remark, but my guess is those that see this as "punishment" are reading too much into it.

Doesn’t Arkansas already allow this?

No he doesn't. Our education system in this country is very flawed.

Not just California. Plenty of institutions refuse to do business with states who made it legal to refuse to do business. Make sense?

I think he would be fired if he made this happen. I agree guns should not be in a stadium but you can’t punish a state because of it. Stadiums will just make a rule no metal objects.

And Arkansas passed an amendment to avoid the issue.

I doubt it, I'd guess the university presidents agree with him.
