Yes you can. The commissioner is responsible for everything regarding SEC Athletics. He cannot allow a sporting event where spectators are packing heat.

WTF???? Can you imagine sitting at an Eggbowl/Ironbowl/Rivalry type game with drunk gun toting rednecks who hate each other? People start talking shite and next thing you know one of these idiots is pulling their gun. Almost 100% guaranteed to happen.

it's only a matter of time before there is a major terrorist attack on a game.

The last thing I want in that situation is an armed Alabama (or any other SEC) fanbase to take it upon themselves to neutralize the threat...

They already have campus carry in GA and AR, so Sankey can go frick himself.

Edit: TX too, although the dildo freaks in Austin weren't happy about it.

How did such a flaming liberal become commissioner of the SEC, the part of our nation who still has pride in America.

How does opposing allowing guns in stadiums make someone a flaming liberal? You are overreacting big time. There are several stories of crazy Bama fans stabbing and shooting people after Iron Bowl losses. I'm not crazy or a flaming liberal for wanting a gun free Iron Bowl. If you want to pack heat while watching, there's always the couch or a tent out on the quad, away from a densely packed crowd of 100,000.

Except there are restrictions, including against carrying them into sporting facilities.

That's my point. There aren't that many problems. Of course there will be issues with guns.

But if someone wants to kill someone they are going to do it,with or without a gun

You could bludgeon someone with your Budweiser can

I believe if I were going I’d be armed with two handguns, I would sit in the highest level of the stadium, and I’d walk with my back to every wall.

As if people aren't already carrying.
Or I suppose you really believe in gun free zone signs?

Would be a lot more difficult in that environment. I would like to think if someone were being bludgeoned with a beer can during a game that other fans/security would intervene before death. With a gun it would be over in an instant.

The worst thing that happens when you mishandle your beer is that you spilled a beer.

Cool. How does that detract from my point that Georgia opted against passing the same exact thing though? Whether or not I believe everyone complies is besides my point.

I agree that this shouldn't happen. Makes no sense.

I guarantee that there are people who bring guns in already

No but when you buy a ticket you're buying a license to enter a space owned by someone else for a specified period of time and as such they are allowed to set rules of conduct. Limiting people from carrying guns into these stadiums is a good idea not only from a liability perspective but also from a common sense perspective and really should not be at all controversial.

Nobody with any sense thinks it is a good idea to allow guns on a campus or in a stadium.

Doubt it. Schools do NOT want drunk assholes with guns in their stadiums. That's a disaster begging to happen.

I know we aren't the smartest of people in Mississippi, but I really don't think that our administrations are stupid enough to let guns into the stadium under any circumstance.

Hell. If you have to have all of your shite in a clear plastic bag just to get it into the stadium, no way they allow people to bring firearms in.
