Ok so I just watched a replay of the safety in the game and I don't get why all of the OSU fans are getting huffy about it. It would have been forward progress if the guy would have just went down but when he broke loose for the brief moment and ran a couple steps it was still considered a live play therefore the safety is legit IMO...not that it matters.

Should have not been a safety. Same exact thing happened in the Auburn-LSU game and it wasn't called. I wonder why.

Atrocious officiating last night.

That was clearly forward progress. Also, I remember a big play for OSU where the player ran out of bounds on the first possession and was smoked by an Arky dude about 5 yards on the sidelines. They also missed a ton of Ohio State holds when Arkansas was blizting.

Didn't look like a safety to me either. He had foward progress to the 2, if not 3.

Well you just said it shouldn't of been called. Maybe that's why?

Lol it was Daniel Herron and the Arkansas player hit him in bounds.

It was the correct call based on the fact there was no whistle. In a better officiated scenario (IMO), they should've blown the whistle early and given him forward progress. But since there was no whistle, the safety call was correct.

The first Arky player hit him in bounds maybe . . . but another one smoked his arse well on the sideline.

it was a safety. he broke the fricking tackle and continued to try to make progress only that he couldn't get out of the endzone.

So if a player breaks loose and starts going forward again it is still forward progress? The dude got away for a brief moment and made a move forward....

He broke free again, but then arky pushed him into the end zone from what I remember.

That safety was one of the worst calls I've seen this year...

No both players hit him in bounds. I thought the same thing and rewatched the play twice.

I thought it was clearly a safety. So does forward progress carry over to when the rb breaks completely free from the defenders and starts to run again? That's fricking stupid. It's simple, if he had have went down when he first started getting tackled it wouldn't have been a safety, but he broke free and got tackled in the end zone, therefore, its an obvious safety.

It was a safety by the rule but I thought the officials should have called forward progress and stopped the play. Id say 90% of the time in the same situation the officials would have marked it at the 2 or 3.
