I hate hearing about injuries like this. I hope he has a quick recovery and is able to play again at some point in the future.

I wonder what kind of insurance the teams provide for players if they have career ending injuries?

Man this sucks all kinds of bad.

Played against Greg in high school, knew of him in college. Always a freak of nature athlete, I just really don't know what he'll do without sports.

Arkansas sustains so many injuries, there has to be some concern amongst the fan base about your S and C coach.

The injury he had in 2010 would have happened to anyone. His leg got twisted underneath someone while trying to juke. He's pretty lanky and he has long legs with a lot of room to hit

Anthony Lucas, Marcus Monk and now Greg Childs...seems like it happens to every good possession WR we have

The truly sad thing is Petrino's ego got Childs hurt in the first place.

It was late in the 4th quarter against Vandy in Fayetteville, we were up by about 4 touchdowns and Childs was still in. We could have just run the ball and ended the game, but Petrino called a slant across the middle trying to score again and the Vandy defender pulled Childs down awkwardly.

He was out for the season, and then never was 100 percent in 2011. Now this happens. frick Petrino.

Sorry to hear that. Speaking of injuries of former players, Mario Fannin tore his achilles tendon almost exactly a year after tearing his ACL last year. I'm sure he's done now, also

You know we all give each other a hard time about each of our favorite teams. This kind of news puts all of that crap into perspective. I hope he is able to recover from this.

this sucks, hate it for Greg. Recovery will be long and tough but hopefully he'll make it back.

After working so hard to get back from his injury in 2010 he landed awkwardly at practice today and was carted off after screaming in pain. Rumor is he might have torn both patella tendons...which might be career threatening. I know this isn't the right board but thought this was notable since he was such a promising player his first 3 seasons

He can make it back.

Cadillac Williams plays after having torn patella tendons in both legs in separate years.

Hopefully he'll rehab hard and make it back.

Both knees??? How the hell does that happen unless it's a Willis Magahee (sp?) type situation?
